March Break Moments #KinderMom

Spring Break is right around the corner and it seems the weather is on the same page so far! While many of you will be taking to the sand and surf, most of us mama’s will be left at home trying to entertain the monkeys and keep them busy!

My two little guys aren’t in school yet and my oldest is in Sr. Kindergarten and only goes part time, so March Break isn’t really a big deal around here. We are used to having all the boys home making noise! lol

This year we will be heading to Toronto to take in Disney on Ice presents Dare to Dream, so that will be a super fun little day trip, we are also looking at other things we might be able to do in the area and just might make it an overnight getaway.

Here are a few fun things you might want to try if you are having a staycation for your Spring Break:

Go Camping – In the house!
We love to build forts and tentsunder our dining room table. Grab some big old blankets and be sure to use safety pins to hold them together, don’t use heavy objects to hold the blankets in place, they could slide off and hit a little one or break.  Save some comfy blankets for underneath and pillows and stuffies too! If your kiddos are a little bit older, they could have a slumber party under there!

Get Creative
Arts and Crafts are always a hit but take it one step further and make your own play dough or flubber.

Sweet Treats
My boys and I love to bake together, this is a good chance to pick out a recipe together and try something new. Or go the simple route and try making some pudding or yogurt pops! still too hard? grab a Kinder Surprise at the check out and you will be sure to get a smile!

Throw a Dance Party
My boys love to get down with some tunes! Put on some fun music and rock out! The boys got all kinds of instruments for Christmas, so I see a boy band in the making this March Break! If your kids are older they may even want to set up their own American Idol set and take turns being judges.

Make Chores Fun
March Break doesn’t mean a break from the cleaning right moms? it’s a nice thought, but we all know that things still need to get done. Still, we could make it a little bit fun and get the kiddos involved too. Turn up the tunes and hand the kids a dusting rag and go to it! Or tackle some Spring cleaning, Winter creates a little germ factory and this is a good time to tackle the toys. Set up a toy cleaning station and let the kiddos wash their toys!

Most importantly, celebrate the little moments! Make time for hugs and cuddles and monster play sessions and once in a while, turn any moment into a special Kinder moment! I’m proud to be back as a #KinderMom for 2012 and look forward to sharing all their exciting news with you. Like for instance, did you know that the Kinder Canada facebook page runs a contest each month? Create a special frame using the My Kinder Moments application and you are entered into a draw for a great prize! This month Kinder Canada is giving away $500 towards the ultimate staycation!!! Now that could make March Break FUN!
