 You Know You’re a Boy Mom When……

* You find rocks, sticks and leaves in pockets while doing laundry

* Your child has had a black eye, chipped tooth, and a scarred lip all before the age of two (yes all three on one child, say hello to Middle Man)

* You avoid using their bathroom at all cost

* You know and fear the pain of stepping on Lego

* Pirate lingo is everyday jargon (Clean up your toys or wake the plank mateys, aarrgh)

* When searching for the loud noise coming from your washing machine, you are relieved to find it’s just a couple of hot wheels cars

* Tow Mater and Lightening McQueen join you at the dinner table

* You have to clean the bathtub after bathing the kids

* When you look outside your window to admire the view, you see your son’s bare bum as he pees at the back fence…….

boy mom

  3. LOL! Don’t forget changing those first diapers…when you forget to put a washcloth on them =)

  4. A funny read to start my morning! 🙂

  5. This is so true! My son would bring home all types of creatures as “pets”. We once had a jar full of pet leeches.

  6. LOL! Oh, Jen! This made me laugh! 🙂 LOVE this post! 🙂 Thanks for the morning laughs!

  7. We have 3 boys while not exactly true there’s is a slight modification to each statement that is true. Thanks for the laugh 🙂

  8. Kristyn Kilcullen says

lol! i dont have any boys yet but my hubby is praying for some

  9. love it…. my youngest likes to stand and look out the window, fully naked…..thank goodness he is still a toddler and it is somewhat acceptable

  10. They fall down/bump into things so often and badly that you don’t even cringe anymore unless you hear crying.

  11. Boy mom here too. You made me laugh.

  12. Hehehehe, funny and oh so true!! We don’t have legos just yet but I do fear stepping on their Hot Wheels, and these boys have hundreds of them!! So far, the only one sending extra things to the laundry is my husband (like for example his iPod and a pocket knife!) boys will be boys!

  13. No boys here, but still lots of adventure!

  14. Hahaha! I love this post and it’s so true, every statement! I’m use to rocks being in his pocket, but I recently found playdough (ew!) LOL!

  15. This is so cute and so true! It’s amazing how different boys and girls can be, and I have one of each, so I get to experience all the girly things and all the boyish things as well 🙂 Love it!

  16. So cute. I love this post. You should link it up to my Sat laughs!

  17. OMG, this is such a great insight to boys! 😀 I love this! So different than girls of course. 😀

  18. So true. I am trying to patiently wait for the day I can have a house with more than one bathroom.

  19. LOL, it actually doesn’t sound all that different from life with a girl, expect for the peeing outside part……

  20. funny… mom of a boy but my boy is 22 now… and doesn’t live with me… thanks for letting me relive the memories.

  21. This is awesome, we have two girls but I look forward to boys in the future for the laughs (;

  22. Here’s my addition…. You know you’re a boy mom when you’re constantly saying “get your hands out of your pants” and, subsequently, cleaning up pee that has *mysteriously* escaped from (the top of) his diaper… sometimes multiple times a day! Arrrrggghhh! LOL Great post… made me laugh – thanks!

  23. I LOVE your posts about boys. I’m used to girls. My son is 16 months and I can already see that raising him will be different. He is COVERED in bumps, bruises and cuts already.

    • I know right? I knew boys were rough but so young??? I always felt like people were looking at me like I neglected or abused him, I have 3 boys people!!! they get a little crazy! lol

  24. AHHH Stepped on Lego today! It hurts”)

  25. great post! 🙂

As a mom to two girls, I was excited to find out I wasn’t missing out on much. Except for the last point, I’ve experienced the life of a “Boy Mom”, too!

  27. Thank you, enjoyed this list very much. I usually have to pull lego out of my son’s pants pockets before washing them.
