When my oldest son was two he saw the first CARS movie and boy was he hooked! We all were, the whole family fell in love with Lightning, his goofy pal Mater and the whole Radiator Springs crew. Now that we have three boys, nothing has changed, we still watch the movie and it’s sequel on a regular basis, in fact, we just watched it again for the hundredth time possibly last weekend and it never gets old!
This Christmas we are taking CARS to a whole new level! A double decker level up, with the Disney•Pixar Cars – Stunt Racers Double Decker Speedway Set!
Rev ’em up and turn ’em loose! Stunt Racers™ perform crazy tricks to wow any crowd, and in this side-by-side racing set, Lightning McQueen gets to show off his speed and style! Use the two-lane launcher to send two cars racing on the Double Decker Speedway, where you can race on both the upper and lower track. Get ready for wheelies, stunts, and super-fast dashes to the Winner’s Circle!
This set took a bit of time to assemble, so be prepared for that. I usually call in the Master Toy Maker, aka Daddy, to tackle this kind of task, but this time I decided to do it myself. Between figuring out how all the pieces went together and placing on all the stickers, it took more time than I had expected. Not difficult mind you, it just took some patience.
Once assembled, the track seemed smaller than I envisioned from the images online, but it did look pretty darn cool. I was excited to get things all revved up! The set only comes with one car, Lightning McQueen, which was a little disappointing. You can buy the other characters separately. But for now, we had the rookie and we were ready to fire him up! The crank handle was easy to work, not too stiff, so the boys can handle it on their own and it was super fun to wach Lightning tear up the track! He can do some pretty awesome figure eights and flies around the round-about with ease! We were not able to get him to enter the round-about from the lower level, despite several tries at different speeds.
Overall, the Cars Stunt Racers Double Decker Speedway Set is a whole lot of fun for the whole family to get in on. If you have a child who needs their toy to work perfectly every single time. This is probably not for you, but easy going kids who get a kick out of cars flipping off the track or going a little crazy at times, will love it!
