Egg-cited about Eggs!

Growing up, one of my best friends lived on a turkey farm just outside the town limits. I spent many, many days and nights out there on the farm playing in the treehouse, sleeping in the damp basement and when we were really lucky, wandering through the turkey barns. The sights, the smells, the sounds, it was all super fascinating to me!

Next week I have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the poultry sec once more as I join bloggers from across the country on a visit to Burnbrae Farms in Eastern Ontario.

Burnbrae Farms has been a family run business since 1893 and I’m really excited to see how they operate and raise quality eggs today!

My favourite lunch that I sometimes eat a couple times a week is a serving of scrambled eggs with salsa and cheese and a side of hashbrowns! It’s so quick and easy to make and eggs are super healthy for you! win-win! Even when I am traveling, eggs are my breakfast of choice and on my recent trip to Turks and Caicos, this omelette breakfast was one of my most loved meals of the trip!

Follow along next Monday using hashtag #BBFFarmTour and see how I trade in my sandals for a good old pair of farm boots and go behind the scenes for a look at life at Burnbrae Farms! I can’t wait to see how the whole process takes place starting with the chicken, right to your grocery cart at the supermarket!

I am participating in the Burnbrae Farms Blogger Farm Tour program as a guest of Burnbrae Farms. All opinions are 100% my own.

  1. Very cool! Looking forward to your tweets and updates! I love being able to see firsthand where our food comes from. We’ve had farm tours on our farm in the past. Tours like the Burnbrae one are great!

  2. I live on eggs, it’s one of our favorite protein sources. My lunch actually consists of grilled asparagus and eggs 🙂

  3. That is so neat!! I would love to tour a farm to find out the whole process of how eggs make their way to us. Eggs are such a key part of most recipes…so tasty in so many different ways!

  4. Nice. I’m super curious to seeing how the chickens are raised. Are they all crammed in drinking “food” from a spout or free range pecking at the ground, eating grains. carrot tops etc….

  5. Sounds like so much fun! I’ve been seeing some pictures of some of the bloggers this morning on your trip so far. I hope you ladies have a blast!
