Ahhh bath time! In our house there are “mommy” baths and “daddy” baths. The kids always want a Daddy bath. Mommy baths are all business… in, wash and out as quickly as possible because I have 4 kiddos to wash and bedtime is fast approaching. Daddy baths are the fun baths. Daddy pulls out all the toys and makes bath time more like playtime.
So my husband had some input on this review too, since this is his area of expertise!
We set up Dedee Duck for our youngest (almost 10 months old now!) as he is not sitting up and playing in his baths. To be honest, he didn’t think much of Dedee Duck. He looked at it a couple of times as we poured water through it, but he was far more interested in chewing on the little whale scoop that it comes with. However, my 3 year old, who came in to see what was going on, couldn’t wait to get in the tub and try it out for himself. He stripped his clothes off and asked to get in. The trickiest part was getting Owen (the baby) to give up his chew toy so Emery (3 yr old) could use it to scoop and pour the water of Dedee Duck.
Emery loved it… okay, he still loves it. We quickly found that he wasn’t satisfied with the small scoop that B Kids provides with Dedee Duck. So Owen got his chew toy back and we gave Emery a larger plastic container to use.
It’s been two weeks and Emery still enjoys playing with it. It’s a hit in our baths!
We also had the pleasure of reviewing B Kids Soft Peek-A-Boo Blocks. Technically, these are for babies… but all my kids (from 7 to 10 months) use them. Owen loves to chew on them, he REALLY loves to chew on them! The great thing is that they are soft, so as he shakes and throws them he (or unsuspecting older kids) don’t get hurt.
The older kids actually build with them, or use them as freight and haul them around. They also discovered a fun game that they like to play with Owen. The soft blocks come with 3 hard plastic “peek-a-boo” blocks. The kids hide a soft block in it, and Owen figures out how to get it out. Seems simple, but he thinks it’s fun!
Of the two, the soft blocks are definitely our favourite, and probably have the most long term fun.
B Kids is now available in Toronto at Mastermind stores and Vancouver in the fall!

These are super cute and look very durable. In our house Mommy gives the best baths as Daddy doesn’t like to get wet or clean up water after the kids are done. I think my 18 month old would love these and my 7 year old would enjoy playing with him in the bath also but shh don’t tell him I said that.
