The squirrels have been extra busy in my backyard lately, a sure sign that fall weather is on it’s way!

As the autumn air starts to get cooler, I know it’s time to turn to classic comfort foods to get us through! Since my husband and I have started eating a little healthier this year, I’ve been looking for ways to still eat all the foods we love, but skinny the recipe up a bit and I’ve come up with this great Ground Turkey Chili recipe that tastes great and is nice and filling.

I really like using the Aylmer’s Accents Spicy Red Pepper Petite Cut Stewed Tomatoes, it adds a great kick of heat and I omit the hot sauce if I’m using it. If you don’t like your chili too spicy just stick with your regular version of canned petite cut tomatoes.

Serve this Ground Turkey Chili with some warm freshly baked Garlic and Cheese Whole Wheat Biscuits or even a slice of store bought garlic bread if you are short on time and you’ve got yourself a hearty meal for a cool autumn night! Enjoy!

My daughter and I make a mean turkey chili, we use fresh ingredients except for a can of tomato paste and the kidney beans, takes a long time chopping up the cherry tomatoes. I’m not a big chili fan but the taste was so different taste is so diff then using canned stuff I usually used. Some of my family members didn’t even realize I used ground turkey. Only I don’t put in is corn, my girls aren’t big fans of it.

This ground turkey chili sounds like another cold weather winner recipe for dinner. I like to see veggies and beans included in dished as they add so much nutrition to the dish. This is a wonderful change from the hamburger chili for variety.
