Like most boys, mine are attracted to anything with wheels and wheels that move on their own are even better! The new High Jump R/C and Hyper Racer R/C from Hot Wheels are full remote control cars that move, and move fast!
Hyper Racer R/C
This is one cool car! Not only does it move at hyper speed (no exaggeration) it also changes colour as it drives off! Our Drift Rod model is green, but with a touch of the hyper button, it glows blue! The car makes cool sounds, can be controlled with the RC controller or with a push of a button and when they say ‘hyper’ speed, they mean it! My first run with this guy, I smashed him right into the wall! He holds up really well though, don’t worry! I planned on making a video for you, but honestly he moves too fast! I did want to show you the colour shifting action live though because it’s pretty cool. The glowing and shifting can only occur with the wheels in motion so I propped the car up on something and let him run without zooming off on me!
The vehicle comes with batteries installed (6 AA) but you’ll still need to buy the controller batteries which need 3 AA. Don’t forget those, because the kids are definitely going to want to play with this Christmas morning! The Hyper Racers come in two models, the Drift Rod shown here and the Twinduction model. Both sell for about $60.
High Jump Frenzy R/C
Boys will get a kick out of all the stunts the High Jump Frenzy can do! From 360 spins, to flips and jumps it’s pretty fun to watch, even for mom! The best part of this one is that it comes with an AC adapter so no more running out of batteries, which can be a real pain over the holidays and really add up cost wise. The controller still takes 3 AAA batteries, but they won’t wear out nearly as fast as the truck itself. Our model came in blue, my oldest son’s favourite colour!, but I believe it also comes in red. The controller is easy to use, even for little boys. The downside to this guy is he rarely ever lands on his wheels while completing a stunt, so he can’t continue on, but the jumps are pretty fun to watch anyway and then it’s someone else’s turn at the controller.
