When the warm weather hits my boys break out their collection of ‘outdoor toys’ which includes a stash of hot wheels cars that they play with in the sandbox and water table. September has been good to us weather wise but cooler days are just around the corner, and the fun will start to move indoors.
Just because the kids will be moving the cars inside, doesn’t mean the creative and interactive fun needs to come to an end. There are plenty of ways to build and create with your little ones inside this fall, here are some tips to help you make this fall fun no matter what the weather has in store.
Clear Some Space
During summer months there’s plenty of space to run around outside. Make sure you have a little area for kids to play and create indoors, even if it just means reorganizing their room so they have a bit more floor space.
Get Creative
Indoor play means you might have to get a bit more creative in terms of activities. Arts and crafts are always a hit, as well as building forts to play in. Help the kids create their own indoor castly or hide out with cardboard boxes and go to town decorating it with craft supplies.
Get Involved
Kids tend to stick with activities longer if they have a playmate, especially if that playmate is you! We like to bake fun treats together in the kitchen, but it’s also fun to build a huge racetrack for their Hot Wheels cars.
My girl loves her older brothers Hotwheels collection…..this would be a great way to have them play together for a bit. At 17 and 3, those moments are a little rare.
