Toys for Boys and One Amazing Product for Mom!

gg-item

Whenever I’m looking for gifts for one of the many little boys in my life I know I can always count on toys from JAKKS Pacific Canada and Incredible Novelties for something fun and a little different! Being a boymom of three and an aunt and great aunt to another handful of little boys means I pretty much know the toy aisle inside and out! I’m always on the look out for new and interesting items, especially during the holidays.

This year, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are all the rage again, they really are a classic now since I watched them when I was younger, but the toys just keep getting better and better. Even BIGGER! Check out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles XPV Remote Control Skateboarding Mikey!

Remote Controlled Skateboarding Mikey brings the most extreme member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life with this innovative, new remote control vehicleand he’s huge!

By using the remote control you can watch Mikey perform awesome moves like 360’s, 720’s, 1-foot spins and manuals (wheelies). Mikey even includes self-righting action, which means if he falls over you can use the remote to get him back up and keep going, which is very cool! Remote Controlled Skateboarding Mikey comes with 20 of Mikey’s most popular catchphrases from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle animated series, which gives this toy personality as well as extreme performance.

The remote is easy to use and geared for ages 4 and up. The left button will spin Mikey and/or the skateboard, and the right button moves him forward. When Mikey has a wipeout, the spin button is also used to get him up and skating again. Depending on how Mikey is positioned on the board, he can perform a variety of incredible tricks. With just a little bit of practice kids will have Mikey skateboarding like a pro!

For creative kids, they will love Floof!

It’s no surprise that Floof is from the same makers of another feel awesome favourite Sands Alive. This new compound  looks like snow, feels like a marshmallow and molds like clay! It’s so light and soft and smooth, kids will have hours of fun molding and shaping it. You can buy special molds to go with it or you can just use your hands. I like that it comes with it’s own storage bucket, that’s a huge plus for this mom! Floof is geared for ages 3 and up.

Stikbot Studio

Stikbots are pose-able sticky bots who will adhere to almost any flat surface thanks to their suction-cup hands and feet. Their unique design allows stikbots to be posed in countless ways – their limbs, torso, and even neck can be positioned at multiple different angles! Stikbots are ridiculously fun and addicting to play with!

But Stikbots are more than just cute pose-able figures. #stikbot is the first ever social-media-sharing toy! Thanks to a free smartphone app available on iTunes and Google Play, #stikbot can really shine; kids can pose, film and edit their #stikbot in stop animation quickly and easily. Once filmed, they can upload their video creation from the app to share with their friends with the simple touch on Instagram, Facebook,Twitter,Vine etc.

My oldest boy is 10 and while he is not allowed on most social media sites just yet, he does love making little videos to show his friends and I know he’ll love playing around with these guys. Stop animation is so cool and even I can’t wait to play along with him.

Okay Mom’s this one is for you!! I am actually super excited about this simple little product called FaceOff!

FaceOff is a natural, soft, reusable cleansing cloth that removes all face and eye makeup (even mascara!!) using only warm water. I was kind of skeptical but after just one try of the FaceOff cloth I was beyond impressed! I’ve bought eye make up removers before that left traces of masacara and eye liner behind and also irratated my eyes. With the FaceOff cloth I had none of that and I only used water. FaceOff is free of all detergents and chemicals.

FaceOff

Now that you have a satifyingly dirty cloth, now what? FaceOff is machine washable, so go ahead and toss it in with your regular laundry. The cloth is white and looks terrible all dirtied up from your make up so I had very little hopes of it ever being white again lol. I was impressed yet again when I pulled it out of the machine and saw that even after a few times of removing make up it had washed up nice and clean. I’ve used the cloth numerous times now over the last couple weeks and it still remains stain free. It’s kind of amazing! It’s also a nice cost saver since I no longer have to keep purchasing those cleansing clothes and make up removers.

Faceoff Cloth

The FaceOff cloth is a great little stocking stuffer!

The products mentioned above were provided free of charge. Regardless, I was not obligated to feature this item and all opinions expressed belong to Mom vs. the Boys and are not influenced in any way.

I love that your review includes more than one product. I actually wondered about the skateboarding Mikey. We got our son the fighting Raphael last Christmas, ordering it all the way from the US and spending 3 times the asking price, thanks to shipping and such so seeing some more of the remote TMNT products in Canada is nice. I’m glad to hear that this is a fairly easy one to use.
I also think I might look into that Floof stuff since my son has been wanting to try the sand product, why not try the alternative, since it’s snow time.
That Face Off cloth looks amazing. I don’t wear make-up but I know a few people that could probably use that and would appreciate not spending a fortune on make-up removers.
    Thanks for the great review.

  15. Tara Gauthier says

My daughter would absolutely love these toys, one of her favorite things is Ninja Turtles! When it’s her birthday I always end up getting a phone call from a parent who says..I have boys and am not sure what to get a girl. They let out a sigh of relief when I say, that’s fine just get her action figures or whatever your son is into, she loves spiderman, ninja turtles, etc. Part of having an older brother in her life!

  16. The Stickbots are so cute! This is the first time that I have read about them. They are definitely something that my little guys would enjoy playing with.

  17. The Face Off cloth is a great way to reduce waste & costs. Great that it washes up really well.

  18. Right away, I thought of my husband. He is such a big kid and I don’t think age limits count here.

  19. That cloth sounds great. I love that there would be less waste.
