Turning 30 Sucks!

Don’t even think for a second that I am turning 30, I wish! lol that milestone has come and gone years ago! lol
It’s actually one of our Aussie Uncles that had the big 3-0 and this is a simple little gift that the boys and I mailed to Oz for the occassion

This fun little DIY gift will work for any milestone birthday and was adapted from a project I saw on Pinterest.

* Grab a bundle of suckers, any kind will do, but I liked these Toostie Pops (tho if you use a blow pop, you could easily use the phrase, Turning 30 Blows as well)
* Wrap an elastic around the sticks to secure them and then go over the elastic with a nice ribbon and curl ends
* Make a little sign out of coloured paper and voila! Easy peasy birthday gift!

For the record I didn’t have issues with 30, It was an amazing year actually, but now 40 might be a tough pill to swallow! lol

I See Me! Personalized Birthday Books {Giveaway}

Last December I introduced you all to I See Me! personalized books for kids, when my big guy received his ‘My Very Own Pirate Tale’ book all about him. It quickly became a family favourite and the little boys loved it just as much as he did, especially the Middle Man. I was actually starting to feel pretty bad about him not having his own special book when we were asked to take a look at another title in the I See Me! collection ‘My Very Happy Birthday’.

“Let’s have a party!”
Frog leapt in the air.
It’s May 1st.
It’s time to repair!”

Tasty Tuesday- She’s a Teenager! Birthday Cake

We have a lot of little boys in our lives, so it’s super special for us to know a little girl. Only, she’s no longer a little girl!!! Our friend Taylor is a teenager already, and I was happy to make her a 13th birthday cake for her party.
kit kat smarties birthday cake
Taylor asked for a cherry chip cake, so the cake is a two layer 9 inch round cherry chip cake with pink buttercream icing. I used red and pink smarties to sprinkle over the top and kit kat bars to round the outside. I used 9 kit kat bars, but one more would have been perfect to have the kit kats tighter together, so if you decide someday to make a cake like this, buy 10 bars. The pink and round balls are gum balls and secured with a dab of icing between each kit kat stick.
I chose a cute striped ribbon from Micheals and  I picked up a letter T charm for Taylor. She now has it on a chain around her neck and it looks really cute.
This would also make a really great Valentine’s Day Cake!
