The boys and I are getting ready for our long Easter weekend and making our favourite shortbread cookies!
Seriously! Who thought it would be a good idea to let their kid bake in a black shirt? lol The boys need aprons, stat!
Shortbread Cookies
1 cup butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream butter and icing sugar together. Slowly add flour and salt mixing well. Add vanilla.
Roll out with rolling pin 1/4 inch thick
Cut with cookie cutters
Bake on a cookie sheet
350F 8-10 min or light brown edges
Notice the colour choices here? It’s Easter and there is no pink or mauve in sight…*sigh*, that’s what happens when you only have boys.
I have no idea why this picture makes them look round, they are eggs and they really are oval!
I’ll have to try this recipe. I have one from my hubby’s grandma, but they’re always so dry.
