It’s not so much that I love my Swiffer Wet Jet, more so that I love how it can be adapted to cost you almost nothing to use! I received mine as a gift a couple of years ago, so all initial start up costs were out of the picture for me!
After finishing up the solution, don’t buy more. Just unscrew the lid to the bottle and refill with your own solution at home. I remember this taking a bit of effort the first time and I’m pretty sure I had the hubster use his pliers to get it off. Then just use a bit of your favourite cleaner, fill with water and replace cap.
Next pick up a Magicblue microfiber cloth, I got mine at Canadian Tire, but I’m sure you can get them anywhere. These clothes just stick right on to the mop because of the mops velcro feature and they don’t move or fall off at all.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit, the mop is no longer going to slip and slide all over the floor. The microfiber really holds on and it will take some effort on your part to push it around now. A small price to pay in my opinion so I don’t mind, plus I think it does a better job at cleaning.
The beauty of the Magicblue cloth is that it goes right into the washing machine when you are done with it. You can use it over and over and over again. I’ve washed mine a hundred times and it still works like a charm!
I like the Wet Jet because it requires no set up, unlike a regular mop that you would have to prepare soapy water in a bucket for, this one you just pick up and go and put away within minutes. Middle Man is the Messy Man at lunch time, so I have to use mine an a fairly regular basis.
So there you have it, the Swiffer Wet Jet- FRUGAL STYLE!
