Plasmart (pronounced Play Smart) is the Canadian company behind the amazing PlasmaCar! I have to tell you that this is one of my top 5 favourite toys ever!!! Imagine a toy that has no batteries, little noise, easy to operate, encourages exercise and is SuPeR FuN to use~The PlasmaCar is all of that!!
Kids of all ages will love the PlasmaCar, we’ve had people aged 2-35 riding around on ours and everyone agrees it’s a fun way to get around! Plasmart recommends the starting age to be 3, but our barely two year old didn’t take long to figure it out! You should see him just jump on, start turning the handles back and forth and glide around the house! When he’s outside he still prefers to push with his feet to make it go. The secret to the PlasmaCar is having a smooth surface to ride it on. You can go forever without putting your feet on the ground, when we brought it to Little Buddy’s first birthday party Grandma was sure it was battery operated and asked “how long is that thing going to keep going for?”
Here’s how it works:
To propel the PlasmaCar, you rotate the steering wheel continuously from left to right. It also works in reverse. To zoom backwards, just switch the set of four front wheels around so that the larger ones are closest to the front of the car. To stop your PlasmaCar, just cease rotating the steering wheel and, when the car slows, put your feet on the ground to bring it to a full stop-easy as pie.

Don’t just take my word for it, PlasmaCar is racking up the awards! They have received the 2003 Gold Star Toy Award from The Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS), the United States Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award (2005), Today’s Parent, Canada’s leading magazine for families, named The PlasmaCar to its 2003 Top Toy list and they were named one of The Canadian Toy Association’s annual “Hot Toys of the Holiday Season.” in 2004 as well.
That’s a pretty good resume!
