The Nissan Quest is a Success

Before we had kids my husband and I swore we would never own a minivan. You’ve probably said the same thing, maybe you still are! It seems no one wants to take that leap to the grocery getter!
Well, when baby #3 came along and my oldest was only 3 years old at the time, we didn’t take the leap, we were tossed off the cliff!

But why the resistance?? For most I think it’s not wanting to give up the ‘cool factor’, for me, it was the sheer size of the beast! I distinctively remember crying as my husband took me out to show me how to drive a van. I was sure I would never get used to it, it felt like driving a bus next to my old coupe. I was wrong. I boot around with the kiddos in tow all the time now without any worry!

So when Nissan Canada invited me to join them in Mont Tremblant, Quebec to test out the all new 2011 Quest, I was excited!
Not having a varied van experience under my belt, I was really interested to check out a different model and see what Nissan had to offer in this year’s Quest.

Well, I’m not going to lie to you, I was impressed! hmmm…impressed by a minivan? never thought I would say that! lol But really, I was blown away!

If you have to drive a minivan- this is definitley the one you want to get! You may not drive anything else-ever!
Because forget the kid factor, check out all these Parent Friendly features you can find on the 2011 Nissan Quest

  • Heated seats and Mirrors (I’m Canadian, this is a big deal)
  • 6 CD Audio System
  • Lower step in height, just 15.7 inches (I’m short!)
  • Dual Powered Moon Roofs (love these)
  • Easy Fill Tire Alert (not kidding when they say easy, you don’t even need a tire gauge. The tire inflation monitor signals you when a tire is low. When you start to fill it the hazard light will flash, and then the horn beeps when the correct tire pressure is reached! So smart!)
  • Blind Spot Warning System (distracted much? avoid those nasty glares!)
  • 11″ DVD Monitor with 2 wireless head phones and a remote control (wireless headphones? no need to go on, I’m sold)
  • Navigation System (oh how do I need one of these!)
  • Rearview Backup Camera (Amazing!! doesn’t just tell you what is behind you, it also tells you where you are going, it’s so easy to back into a parking space)
  • iPod jack, Bluetooth Connectivity and USB connection port
  • 2nd & 3rd row seats fold flat
  • Conversation Mirror that let’s the driver easily see into the back (“Johnny, stop hitting your brother”- you get it…)
  • Push Start
  • “Intelligent Key” proximity keyless entry (My favourite feature!) Nissan offers the ability to open and close both side doors and the hatch by the touch of a button on both the inside and out. yes! on the outside too! Got an arm full of groceries? just touch the hatch button and open sesame! Got a kid on each hip like I did? Press the side door button and voila! ready to go! My intial reaction was that my kids would be touching those buttons and crawling in to play, but the beauty with the ‘intelligent key’ is that the buttons don’t work unless the key is in close proximity, same with the remote start! You know what it also means??? you will never lock your keys in your car again!! Love.
Yes friends, Nissan really has thought of everything.
The 2011 Nissan Quest is available in 4 trim levels (I vote for the LE, peeps!) and has 2 interior and 5 exterior colour options (what? girls want to know this! – my favs? the Twilight Grey or Black Amethyst)

The 2011 Nissan Quest is built for Mama’s!
Take one for a test spin today, you’ll see what I mean.

Thanks to Nissan Canada for the invitation. Travel and accomodations were provided. I do not claim to be a vehicle expert, all opinions are my own, you may have different experiences.
