My 4 year son, Big Brother, will watch anything on t.v., if it is on, he’ll stare at it. My Middle Man is only 2 and is far more picky on his t.v. viewing selections. If he doesn’t like it, he’ll ask me to ‘find a new one’, but one show he loves to take in is Max & Ruby. So we were thrilled to be able to take him to see the show Live!
Max & Ruby Bunny Party Review
Pre Performance
Middle Man can be a bit strange about new experiences at times, and well, this was shaping up to be one of those times! He was a little overwhelmed by the big theatre and all the people. Big Brother loved the excitement and chatted on about whether Max & Ruby would be in a house or a hole! lol Just another reason why my boys are just different kinds of people. Middle Man was on the verge of cracking, the more we tried to talk to him, the more upset he got and he started to ask to go home. We hoped the show would get underway soon!
The Show Begins
Finally, the lights went low and the music started! Big Brother clapped and got wide eyed with excitement! Middle Man freaked out! He started to scream and cover his face in fear! oh boy! I scooped him onto my lap and as soon as the actors appeared and started talking, he stopped to listen. aaahhh….crossing fingers!
Max & Ruby made their entrance and they were huge! Bigger than the adults on the stage! If that doesn’t get your attention, I don’t know what would! The story of the Bunny Party, unraveled the same way a television show of Max & Ruby would, it was very true to the show, except they livened it up with some song and dance numbers. My boys loved the Robot and Space Cadet, Middle Man kept talking about them and wanted them to come back on.
There was some really fun moments and surprises, of course the biggest surprise was who the Birthday party was for. If you are a Max & Ruby fan already, you may be able to guess who the guest of honour is, but I won’t give it away!
It’s a Wrap!
Even by the intermission Middle Man had come around and was liking the whole performance, so when it ended I had two really happy boys! There was a few points in the play when the energy was low, that my boys got a little antsy, but I thought Koba Entertainment did a really good job of putting on a show like Max & Ruby and keeping it fun and entertaining for the whole family.
On the way home in the van both of the kiddos were happily singing ‘Max & Ruby….Ruby & Max’ It was so cute! When I asked them if they liked it, I got a big ‘Yes!’ from Big Brother and Middle Man said ‘Me too, I’m a big boy!’
It was a really fun outing for the family and a great experience for the kids to see a live performance! Can’t wait to take them again!
I was provided tickets, by Koba Entertainment, to the show for reviewing purposes, no compensation was given and all opinions expressed are my own. You may have a different experience.
