This winter I got to take my oldest son to his first ever Scholastic Book Fair!! I don’t know who was more excited, him or me! Probably me, because he didn’t know what he was in for! I first fell in love with Scholastic stories when I was his age and continue to love them through the eyes of my children. Our bookshelves are swimming with Scholastic Books and truth be told, they are our favourites!
Check out what Scholastic has out this Spring:
The Underpants Zoo
By Brian Sendelbach
Ages 3-8/ $19.99 Hardcover/May 2011
I have an almost 2 and 3 year old, so prime potty training ages and this book about underpants is really great for them. They love checking out the favourite underwear designs of the zoo creatures and think it is hilariously funny when they all end up with ants in their pants and have to close the zoo!
Meow said the Cow
By Emma Dodd
Ages 4-8/ $19.99 Hardcover/ May 2011
Sometimes out of the nowhere, along comes a book that works it’s way into your toddler’s heart and becomes well loved instantly. This is one of those books. Our Middle Man took to this book right away and it is our go-to naptime book every single day now. He loves the sneaky cat who cast spells on the other animals to mix up their sounds and he loves the pictures so much that it is hard to hold the book, because he is always pushing my fingers out of the way to see every inch of the colourful pages!
Give Me Back My Dad!
By Robert Munsch
Illustrated by Michael Martchenko
Ages 3-8/ $7.99 Paperback/ May 2011
Remember back in the Fall when I told you about the Pick-a-Munsch contest? Canada voted on their favourite potential storyline for a new Robert Munsch book and here it is- Give Me Back My Dad!
It’s a cute tale set in Rigolet, Labrador about a daughter and father fishing trip that goes awry. This could be a really great Father’s Day book this year for your favourite Dad/Daughter combo!
