I did something a little bit crazy this year! I decided instead of buying Valentine’s Day Cards for Big Brother’s class, we would make them! lol In hindsight we probably shouldn’t have left this project until the day before the party, it was slow going! But we got it done and they actually looked pretty great.
I got this idea because I received a case load of candy when I worked the fabulous Allan’s company around Halloween. Most of the packages had yummy candy like Hot Lips, Big Foot, Green Thumbs, Fuzzy Peaches, Sour Grapes…….I could go on and on….and they were not marked as ‘Halloween’ candy at all. So what’s a girl to do with a box full of candy? Share of course!!!
We made these great little boxes using a template from Mirkwood Designs. It took a bit of practice to get the process of scoring and bending the pouches just right. Plus we ran out of glue 3/4 of the way through, thank goodness for awesome neighbours! lol We glued the long side and just taped of the ends.
I printed off a Valentine’s label and Big Brother wrote all of his friends names and his too. It was slooooowwww moving there too but once I told him we could fill them with candy when he was done, he sped things up a bit! 😉
This would also be a fun idea for party favours at a birthday party!
Check out the website for box templates, there are all kinds of really cute and creative ideas!
Love these! Thanks for linking up to the template. I tried to make some a few days ago using old toilet paper rolls and it didn’t turn out at all – ha! Thanks for linking up to Family Fun Friday! 🙂
