We moved into our our first home about nine years ago. While structurally the house was great, the decor just wasn’t the taste of a couple of 20-somethings. We made our way around the house room by room replacing flooring, tearing out wallpaper and painting walls. It was really fun for us to transform the house and make it ‘ours’. We’ve even started redecorating rooms we originally painted to accommodate little ones with fun kid designs and brighter colours.
My husband is actually not a fan of painting so I do most of this myself. I don’t mind it, these days it’s actually an escape to have daddy watch the boys and I get to hide in a quiet room working! Painting only goes well if you have the right tools though and I’ve definitely experienced the pain of using cheap paint, wobbly poles and crappy brushes. Not fun!
Shur-Line makes painting a whole lot easier with their line of creative and sturdy painting tools!
The Shur-Line Easy Release Frame-
The Easy Release frame provides DIY painters with a simple solution for quick and easy clean up. The frame design allows you to remove the paint-filled roller cover without getting paint all over your hands. Simply squeeze the lever and the roller cover is released, saving time and avoiding a mess. It also has a special cage that prevents roller slippage (so annoying when that happens) and has a soft ergonomic handle.
I was super impressed with this pole! I’ve used a couple of things in the past, a wobbly plastic pole extender that did a horrible job and also the end of a wooden broom that did the job but wasn’t adjustable at all. The Shur-Line pole is super super sturdy, extends from 30″ to a whopping 60″ and has points to stop in between. It also has a soft grip and just feels really good, it’s fantastic. If you have a staircase in your house you know how hard it is to paint up to the ceiling and balancing on ladders on a staircase is just plain scary. You can’t get away from it entirely but this extended pole will help so much with this area of the house and also in any room for short folks like me!
This is one tool that I have never tried before. The next room I am itching to update is our ensuite bathroom so I look forward to giving it a try then. It’s perfect for edging ceilings, walls, windows and baseboards. It has a retractable guide for mess free loading, quick eject pad release button, and is threaded for a pole attachment.
