Guest Post: DIY Trail Mix Minus The Unhealthy Stuff

Hi all, Please welcome Nicole from Mama to 4 Blessings, as a Guest Poster to Mom vs. the Boys today! Take it away Nicole!

My kids like to snack. Changing our home with more healthier alternatives, using less and less sugary foods.

After going to the store and picking up a bag of trail mix, which I had intended to purchase I checked the label first. I was astounded at the sugar content. So I decided to come up with my own healthy version!

 DIY Healthy Trail Mix

Ingredients:

1 cup of Cheerios

1/2 cup of peanuts

1/2 cup of almonds

1 cup of granola

Add all these ingredients to a mixing bowl, give a quick toss with your hands so that everything is mixed together and viola, you have a healthier version of trail mix. No chocolates, sugary dried fruits. The granola and other items are a good contrast of sweet and salty but a healthier version!
