I know nothing about raising little girls, but I was a little girl and what I do know is that I never gave my private parts much thought. Nope, I didn’t, just couldn’t care less about them, but boys on the other hand seem to be infatuated with private parts from the minute they are born.
Prepping for the Halloween season recently the family sat down in the kitchen to create some pretty fun Rice Krispie treats (check out my post tomorrow). Big Brother who is six wanted to make a zombie. So I helped him shape his blob of gooey treat into a human type shape and let him take over from there. He added all kinds of decorations like little bones and such and then grabbed the black gel icing.
While he’s working, he is talking to himself out loud.
“Now he needs some eyes, and a nose, and now his mouth….
…and he needs a penis…”
ummm…..what???
Hubby and I exchange a glance and monitored his end of the table.
He was just so matter of fact. No laughing, no sillies, just adding all the body parts a zombie should have.
So we gave each other a smirk and left it alone. He carried on with his project. We carried on with ours. Hiding any trace of a laugh.
Later that night Hubster says to me
“well it’s a good thing he wasn’t making a girl zombie! lol”
ohhhhh Boys…….and I have 3!
I have 2 … trust me i agree lol. i don’t “Get it” either
I have three as well (2 at home) 1 stepson. Moments like these is what makes it so worth buying Advil lol 🙂 Boys are so funny.
Boys. lol.
lol…yes, boys just say it like it is!
Precious! Boys are awesome.
I often think my poor little boy gets lost in the girly shuffle. He embraces it most times, and enjoys wearing the pink socks if those are the only ones I can find in the morning. lol!
lol cute!
hahaha that’s hilarious! But so true about boys. I have one of each, and I’m always amazed at how naturally different boys behave compared to girls 🙂
Your post made me laugh out loud. Being a mom of a girl and a boy I can say you are totally right. My son has an infatuation with parts too compared to his sister at that age. Oh my goodness thats too funny I’m surprised you and hubby could hold it in 😉 Thanks for sharing this fun story LOL
lol good to know my suspicion was right! I didn’t see you nearly enough at SCCTO by the way!
LOL I have two and a beautiful princess. The minute the diaper was off they were always hands in their pants! My daughter never does that!! Boys gotta love them!
LOL, I have noticed that with my DS.
I will need all the tips I can get if I end up being a mom of boyS
Oh – I can SO relate!!!
Mom of two little boys and it is so true. And I suspect they never grow out of it…..they just keep it to themselves better.
