It’s back-to-school time, and for people who have little ones just starting school (or even in elementary school who are nervous!) Random House has a great little book to help them cope with the changes and being away from parents all day.
This is year is a hard one for me as I put my last baby boy on the school bus and send him off to Junior Kindergarten. I thought putting the first boy on the bus was hard, let me tell ya mamas, it doesn’t get any easier!!
While I’m waiting for someone to write the next book “The Pocket Baby” just for me, take a look at this adorable book, The Pocket Mommy, perfect for kids just starting school!
THE POCKET MOMMY
BY RACHEL EUGSTER; ILLUSTRATED BY TOM GOLDSMITH
Saying goodbye to Mom at the kindergarten door can be tough. Samuel hates it and wishes he could have a tiny, pocket-sized mommy to carry around with him all day. His mom slips a pretend mommy into his pocket, and when she comes to life, Samuel is delighted . .. at first. But he soon discovers that having a mom along in kindergarten isn’t as much fun as he thought it would be. Sure, she helps him remember the words to songs and keeps him company. But she also rearranges the bookshelf, corrects his artwork, and tries to clean out the guinea pig cage—all with disastrous (and comic) results. An energetic romp with a sweet core, The Pocket Mommy follows one little boy as he navigates the age-old conflict between the comfort of the familiar and the joy of letting go.
That sounds like a really amazing book – I hope that I win!!!
I’m putting my first baby in Kindergarten in a few days 🙁
