*Baby Reviewer Diane puts the Tommee Tippee Truly Spill Proof Drink Cups to the ultimate test!*
I’m sure we’ve all tried spill proof cups… I’d buy a new cup with high hopes only to be let down time and time again. Every spill proof cup we’ve tried, and we’ve tried a lot, leaks. My kids always find a way. They are spill ninjas, and masters at their craft.
We were asked to review Tommee Tippee’s Truly Spill Proof Cup, I thought sure… how long till we can make it leak?
Now because of our previous leak issues, drinks in our house are only allowed in the kitchen – makes for a much easier clean up. But that wasn’t going to make for a very good test was it? Instead, I gave each of the kids a cup full of water and told them they could take it where ever they wanted. They looked at me like I had lost it… and were a little unsure if I was joking or not!
So off they went… the first day they were so good with the cups… always upright, on the table, ect. The second day not so much… and the third day…. well here are some of the places I found the cups:
My daughter (who was not feeling well at the time) also laid one on her bed beside her pillow.
NOT A DROP was spilled. I thought for sure when I pulled the one out of the couch that I would find a puddle there – nothing. I thought, okay… impressive…. but what about the shake test? Nothing ever beats the shake test. And my 2 year old LOVES to shake his sippy cup until there are small drops of water all over the house – or on occasion in a concentrated spot where he can make a little puddle to splash in.
I’m suprised and impressed to say that not so much as a drop came out. The kids each tried to make it leak. They did everything… even rolled it down the stairs. My daughter was sure she could make it leak – but wanted to do it outside so it wouldn’t make a mess (in her experience sippy cups always leak). In this picture she was shaking as hard as she could, she insisted she could make a least 1 drop come out. She eventually gave up and took a drink!
So I had one last test…. I filled one up, left the straw open and shook it.
As you can see, we tried almost everthing to make these cups leak. But to no avail… not a drop came out. I especially love them for in the van – I hate wet/stained seats! And with these I don’t care if they fall because I know I won’t have a mess to clean up. I’m really impressed by these and would only buy/recommend Tommee Tippee Sippy Cups from here on out. WELL WORTH IT!
The most spills are actually made by the cat knocking glasses/mugs etc off tables when we leave them unattended so we have been trying to increase our spill-proof drink containers in the house so even if she knocks them over it won’t go all over the place. These would be great for when our niece & nephew visit.
haha! sounds like you all could use a cup!
