The boys love pirates and mama loves Tink, so this new movie fresh out from Disney was the perfect match for our family! We were all pretty excited to get our hands on an early copy of The Pirate Fairy and settled in to watch it together this weekend!
From the world of “Peter Pan” comes “The Pirate Fairy,” a swashbuckling new adventure about Zarina (voice of Christina Hendricks), a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who’s captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities. When Zarina’s wild ideas get her into trouble, she flees Pixie Hollow and joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock, who make her captain of their ship. Tinker Bell (voice of Mae Whitman) and her friends must embark on an epic adventure to find Zarina, and together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James (voice of Tom Hiddleston), who’ll soon be known as Captain Hook himself.
The movie did not disappoint, it was a delightful mix of all your favourite fairy characters and some swashbuckling pirates to boot! It was interesting to see the fairies outside of their famililar pixie hollow as most of the movie takes place on board the pirate ship. The boys declared the movie to be ‘awesome’ and even popped it in to watch it again the following day. For boys who sometimes groan if they have to see a movie more than once, that was pretty surprising and a true testament to how much they enjoyed it!

I think that my kids enjoyed this movie more than any of the other Tinkerbell movies! My sons were definitely interested in the pirates, so the movie did cater to a wider audience.

WE really enjoyed it also! The boys are big fans of the residents of pixie hollow, and adding pirates was a great bonus for them….

I absolutely loved this movie! We are big Tinkerbell and Pixie Hollow fans in our house. When we saw this movie, it even got my little guy’s attention with the pirates. Can’t wait for Halloween this year, I’m thinking we’re going to have a few Pirates this year! 🙂
Such a fun movie! We loved it too. I also loved that it was great for boys and girls – there was something for everyone.
