I have a list for what I need for Christmas dinner and entertaining. It’s a system I’ve been using for years & it works for me, helps spread the cost out a bit!

Our family saves at the Holidays by doing our own baking, not over-gifting and realizing that Christmas isn’t about “things”, it’s about love and people.
The past few years I have been making a donation to our local women’s shelter and that is my gift for my out-of-town. I collect stuff on sale all year long and present it the week before xmas. It makes me feel good as well as my relatives.

I try to save during the holidays by reading the flyers for on sale items.
We keep the holidays simple. A few small inexpensive gifts under the tree and then we do a family gift that all 6 of us will enjoy. Last year our family gift was an overnight trip to Toronto and tickets to the aquarium. I found the hotel through a discount sight and the aquarium tickets were on sale if you bought them online.
We love homemade gifts….sometimes it costs a bit more but we always make it up in another area.
I compare prices in the various flyers, and try to find the best deal – i mostly buy items that are on sale – always use coupons too – i do this through the whole year!
