I love to shift a shade with the seasons, so come Spring I am ready to lighten up my locks with blonde highlights. But for the Fall, I shift back into warm chocolate shades of brown for the cold weather months. At the beginning of October I headed to my salon to rid my hair of the blonde and asked to return to my natural brown roots with some cinnamon highlights for variation. I was at the salon for over 3 hours and let’s just say it didn’t turn out quite how I’d planned. I’m not entirely sure what happened but that blonde was stubborn and refused to let go. I ended up with some light brown on top which tapered into blonde on the way down. Now I know the ombre look is trendy right now, but this just wasn’t doing it!
Thanks to Clairol and my role as a PGmom, I was invited to head to Toronto and meet with Clairol Consulting Colourist Luis Pacheco at his salon, Hair on the Avenue, and get a much needed do-over on my Fall look!
Luis picked out Clairol’s Nice and Easy in a Natural Medium Neutral Brown shade, and we got started on my new look. I have used Nice and Easy many times in the past and have always been happy with the results, so I was excited to see how it would turn out!
The colouring process didn’t take long at all and I was whisked upstairs to get my hair styled. The hair stylist was amazing and actually curled my locks with nothing more than a brush and a blowdryer! The curls lasted longer than any time I had ever curled my hair with a curling iron too! I was amazed!
Next, I made a stop to freshen up my face with COVERGIRL products. The team went with a neutral eye colour and bold lips. While I do wear make up on a regular basis, I almost never go with a dark lip, so this was really different for me!
and voila! My make over was complete and all traces of blonde were removed. This truly proved to me that you don’t need to pay tons of money at a salon to colour your hair, the box of Nice and Easy did the job way faster and better and costs under $10 a box.
Before and After Side by Side
So what do you think?
Special thanks to Luis Pacheco, Hair on the Avenue, Clairol, and awesome PR teams that put the day together! I’m ready for tackle fall and winter head on!
