Rushed mornings don’t have to be boring in the breakfast department. My youngest two boys love cereal and will eat it every day, but they get bored of the same kind of cereal and will often have two or three boxes open at any time, just for the variety each day. There really is another way, and it’s just as easy and twice as healthy than bringing home boxes of what the boys call ‘fun’ cereal!
By starting with a wholesome base like Weetabix, simply dress up that bowl each day with healthy toppings like fruits, nuts, honey and seeds. The options are literally endless!
Weetabix is easily portion controlled, two biscuits equal one serving, and the perfect fit for a small breakfast bowl. Each serving contains only 2 grams of sugar, but delivers 67 percent of your daily need for whole-grain. It’s high in fibre, has no trans fat and no artificial preservatives, colours or flavours. Making it a great way to energize your day!
It’s a bit simple on its own and maybe not very pretty to look at, but there are so many ways you can mix your Bix to ramp up its nutritional value, for fun, to add colour, for different tastes, whatever I think will get the boys excited for breakfast that day!
The combinations really are endless
Try it with different milks such as almond milk
any flavour of yogurt
nuts like slivered almonds, walnuts and my favourite – pecans!
chia seeds, flax or raisins
fresh fruits like bananas, berries, peaches or mango
Add something sweet like maple syrup, honey or brown sugar
You name it! It’s a simple way to serve the boys a healthy breakfast or after school snack, that stays interesting and your tastebuds satisfied!
One of our favourite ways to dress our ‘Bix is the eye catching bowl topped with strawberries, almonds, honey and fresh milk. It’s a wholesome breakfast that keeps the boys feeling full longer and is great served warm or cold.

This looks delicious and filling. I like the idea of trying it with almond milk
I love almond milk!
I don’t think we’ve actually tried Weetabix before! I’ll have to look it up at the grocery store next time I’m shopping as it sounds very good. 🙂 Thanks for sharing all these great ideas!
It’s actually made right here in Ontario! I was surprised!
I have never had a BIX and sadly due to my celiac disease, never will. IT does look very tasty and something DS9 would love!!
I’m known as a weirdo in my family because I never have milk with my cereal. I figure cereal is crunchy – there’s no way I want it to be wet!
haha, I am the same way!! I prefer to munch on dry cereal like a snack!
I haven’t had Weetabix since I was a kid. It looks delicious so maybe I’ll have to pick some up. Maple syrup and pecans for me!
yes, doesn’t that sound good?
So many great options! I bet it would be good layered with some yogurt.
Yes! I love granola on my yogurt, this would be very similar!
I love to add bananas to my cereal and warm up the milk too! YUM!
I loooove weetbix! I make them soft with some hot water then i add milk and sugar!
I love to add banana, blueberries or strawberries to my cereal. I have tried them with hot milk.
I love to add blueberries and flax seeds to mines!
I have a couple boxes of this in my pantry. Thinking some fresh fruit thrown in would be good!
This is one of my favorite cereals!
I have eaten Weetabix almost everyday for over five years as part of my exercise and diet regimen. My usual is blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and banana with skim milk.
oh that sounds good!
What great ideas!
I haven’t had Weetabix is years…I should change that. Bet it would be great with almond milk.
I grew up with Weetabix on the table for breakfast, my twin sister used to love it but I was more of a simple cornflakes girl myself.
I love Weetabix! So healthy and easy to flavour in different ways.
I love to mix my Bix with Greek Yogurt and fresh berries, and a small drizzle of honey.
Lots of great options. I have to admit that I have never tried Weetabix. Might have to buy a box to try it out.
