I remember the days when my son used to cry when it was time to come inside. He could spend hours on the swings or digging in the sandbox, and there would be full on tears when we suggested it was time to head indoors. But as time went on and my boys got older, it became harder and harder to get them to go outside, so it’s no surprise to me that nine out of ten children don’t get enough exercise each day.
Canadian Tire is committed to changing this epidemic of inactivity this summer! The challenge is simple, all you have to do is get outside and PLAY!!!! Sounds fun right?? While some kids will run for the door, others will need some encouragement. I find that getting out and active as a family really gets the boys excited and we all have a blast together! Staying active is important to our family.

Here’s my own active kids at play~
Our boys are more active than ever this year, now that soccer season has started. We are at the soccer fields four nights a week and if the boys aren’t in uniform on the field, than they are playing on the playground with their friends while their brother plays. On weekends, the boys take swimming lessons, which looks a lot to them like play, but for mom and dad it’s peace of mind knowing the boys are learning a life saving skill. The boys have no shortage of things to do this summer; biking, skateboarding, scooters, playground, splashpads, hikes and so much more! We are ready to take on the challenge to get out there and play as a family!

My girl is playing soccer this year. It is a great way to stay active during summer
Definitely hard to get my kids outside sometimes. We do lots of biking and swimming during summer holidays and they’re active with sports during the school year.

I love the video of your boys getting active; it’s fantastic! We also have a trampoline, and I find that it helps them stay active all year round (they even trampoline in the winter and shovel off the trampoline top). They bring their friends over and they play “take down” on the trampoline. Since you’re a mom to 3 boys, I know you already understand the game 😉
the trampoline was the best money ever spent, it’s definitely there go-to activity of choice and they stay on there forever! They have lots of soft balls that they kick around at eachother on there lol
I agree that our trampoline was a fantastic investment! Believe it or not, my younger kids tricycle on it sometimes, although it’s not very taut!
