Arrrghhhh Mateys!!!! Are you ready to set sail on the Island Rogue and search for sunken treasure this Summer? Then you’ll want to head to Toronto Island and join the Pirate Life crew!!
Pirate Life Attraction
Our family made the trip to Toronto Island last weekend, it was a gorgeous day to be on the Island and we made our first stop at the Pirate Life tent. The boys were a wee bit hesitant seeing all these scurvy pirates about, but the crew was fantastic and set about giving us each our own pirate name! The hubs and I are hoping our own pirate names stick and the kids keep calling us Majestic Mom and Dangerous Dad!! Arrrggghh!!!
Next the boys got dressed up as pirates, since they were brothers, they were the red crew! Scar face paint finished off the look! Some of the kids with bare arms got little tattoos and I saw a few mustaches too. The make up washed off easily with a baby wipe.
While my own kids were a bit shy, there were others that came dressed in their own pirate gear and ready to take on the crew! We laughed so hard at a group who arrived with fake weapons and started to attack! The crew did not see that one coming! Either way, the crew were great with all of the kids and their different personalities!
We boarded the Island Rogue, a 45 foot Pirate Ship!
The kids gathered round for stories and song about the Pirate Life and what it takes to be a salty pirate! Using a treasure map and keen eyes, they found the X that marked the spot and after a few heave, ho’s, they hoisted up the sunken treasure!!
Before too long, some stranded sisters boarded our ship. But these guests were not friends, but foes and they tried to steal the treasure. A fight ensued.
Spoiler Alert!
The kids and crew use their wits to outsmart the bad guys…err…girls and they make their getaway, but not before the kids shoot them with their water cannons! Arrgghhhh be gone enemies!! so fun!
The kids had so much fun taking the pirate oath and joining the crew, they were even able to bring home a piece of the pirate treasure! It was fun for the parents too and we caught some great views of the Toronto skyline and CN Tower from the ship.

Toronto Island is a beautiful place to explore! Spend the rest of your day at the beach watching the sailboats, walking the paths in Franklin’s Garden or having fun at Centreville!
We boarded the Island Rogue at no cost, however, all opinions expressed are my own and not influenced in any way. We had a fun visit to Pirate Life and hope you do too!

I imagine your boys absolutely loved this experience of visiting the Pirates on Toronto Island. I think any boy would be so happy to actually experience time with (not too dangerous) pirates and join in their shenanigans. You are so fortunate to have a birthday party with pirates.
What a cool experience bringing the pirate life to reality for kids! Wish they had birthday parties like that when I was a kid!
This is such a great experience for kids, maybe parents as well. Very different and so much fun.
