Games Night isn’t just for the kids!

Who says kids get to have all of the fun? Games night is a great way for adults to connect too! September is a busy month with the return of school and sports, but fall is also a great season to curl up by the fireplace with your best friends, pour a glass of wine and laugh over some games. Tuck those kiddies in bed early and invite the girls over for a games night this fall!

Prepare your Space

Make sure you have a low to table to hold your game and a few side tables to place refreshments on. Bring in some pillows and even blankets so your guests can relax and get comfy, it will remind you of sleep overs in the good old days!

Mix up your guests

Game night is a great time to introduce friends, don’t be afraid to mix your group up by adding a co worker you love, a new neighbour, sister in law etc. Games are a great way to break the ice, and mixing different personalities can make for a really fun night! Especially when you are playing games like Apples to Apples Freestyle, all the different personalities will shine through!

Pick games ahead of time

Choose your games ahead of time so you can jump in right away when everyone has arrived. You can choose a fun theme or just pick games everyone loves like Pictionary, UNO, or Apples to Apples.

Make it a potluck

By far the greatest stress of having a group over is planning the food and drinks. Keep it simple and invite everyone to bring a dish or snack with them. You’ll have plenty to nibble on without the stress and mess to worry about.

Apples to Apples Freestyle!

Branching out from classic Apples to Apples game play, Apples to Apples Freestyle introduces a whole new kind of creative fun – players get to make up their own hilarious answers!
Each round, a different player is the “judge” and turns over a card to reveal a fill-in-the-blank statement. Everyone else comes up with a word or phrase to fill in that blank and writes it down on their personal apple slate – and what they choose to write can be as crazy as they want it to be! The judge selects the best answer and decides the winner of that round. First player to win 4 rounds wins the game!
