Random Acts of Graffiti

After a full day of running errands, I arrived at my last store with a full bladder and dashed into the ladies room before tackling the biggest shop of the day. When I went to lock my stall, I noticed this little gem of graffiti right beside the handle

bad day

huh, wow. Well the day wasn’t even going that badly, but thanks for the pee break pep talk stranger!

When I turned to get myself some T.P. I found more

be kind

hava good day

Holy cow, these vandals are pretty nice, I’m smiling already. Then I spot this one

be a bro

Super odd sentiment in the ladies room, but I like their attitude!

And then one more

take care of eachother

All of the writing is just a little bit different, some faded, some new. So I can only assume it’s not one person, but a few. Just random acts of kind graffiti. See what happens when one person says something nice? Other people do too. Now if only it wasn’t done in sharpie on a bathroom wall.

hey, it sure beats  “for a good time call….” though right?

  1. Although I can’t support vandalism, I do like these sentiments 🙂

Yes, it’s too bad they wrote all over the walls, but it would almost be a shame to remove it now. I know it made me smile.

  2. Lately I haven’t noticed very much graffiti in washrooms, but those ones would have made me smile too. I really like the first one – I wrote it down so I can look at it often!

Thanks for sharing the gems of graffiti left inside the bathroom stall. I really liked the premise. You should do a book of your collection — even ask others to send in good ones or profound pearls of wisdom plastered over the world. I love the title ‘Random Acts of Graffiti’. I don’t like vandalism either, but some graffiti artwork is an improvement over old, crumbling plaster walls. You could check Pinterest for more samples of profound or just cheerful graffiti. Since most graffiti is anonymous, I don’t think you would have any intellectual property or copyright issues. I worked for attorneys for over 30 years so I could check with a couple if you ever decide to go forward with a book. I think it would make a great coffee table book with color and black and white photos. Again, thanks for sharing — it brightened my day!

  4. At least they were positive messages. I have seen some horrible drawings on some bathroom doors in the past.

exactly, I thought this was really neat and loved that when one person wrote something positive, others did too! So much better than what you normally see

  5. Vandelism has always been thought of as a bad thing by lots of people (myself included) but these random acts show that not all vandels are little punks out to cause trouble. If I was the owner, I’d definiteley keep these positive words on the stalls!

Atleast they were kind words and not the nasty ones we are most use to! Glad they made you smile.

  7. Haha! I love this. funny place but makes sense since you have “time” and you’re “sitting down”. All things that make it more likely that you’re going to notice and read those sayings. Happy that it put a smile on your face. It put one on mine. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Love the positivity! Especially love the “its a bad day not a bad life” a great way to think of things.

  9. Canadian graffiti at it’s finest haha 🙂

  10. At least they’re being positive!

I too don’t like Graffiti and I must say this is the first time that I’ve read some positive comments from the artists which does make a nice change. 🙂

  12. Positive graffiti makes me smile. 🙂

  13. Made me smile!

At least they come with a postitive message

I actually love reading bathroom grafitti — it’s often thought provoking in one way or another.
