Don’t be fooled

snap like a twig

I came across this image the other day and immediately gave it a share on facebook. I shared it because I had 3 babies without medication and it made me laugh. At first. Yes, at first it made me laugh, but then something far more serious settled into the lines of my face and wiggled down into my soul.

I shared it to my wall, to remind me that I may be small, but I’m also mighty. That even when I don’t feel strong or courageous, that somehow I find a way. I make it through.

I shared it for the times I feel lonely, to remember that I can count on myself. That I have to go to battle for me.

I shared it for days when I feel like I have no support to remember that my husband is on my team and that together we are enough.

In the wise words of Winnie the Pooh,

“You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

Don’t be fooled by this face, I had a baby without medication. I could snap you like a twig.

But I won’t.

I enjoyed this and I can only add that it’s good that our pain threshold is usually higher than a male’s is. 🙂
