PAM No Residue

Does your cook and bakeware have that brown sticky stuff stuck on it like mine? It’s so frustrating and no matter how much ‘elbow grease’ I put into trying to clean it off, it just won’t budge.

You know what it is though right? Maybe you haven’t given it much thought, I hadn’t, I thought it was just the cost of doing business in the kitchen, but the culprit is left over cooking spray that gets cooked right on there – forever.

PAM

PAM® Original has been helping home cooks save precious time since 1961, that’s a long time to reign supreme and now I know why. PAM leaves up to 97% less residue than the bargain brand. And truth be told, I often buy the bargain brand because I assumed all cooking sprays were made equal. I guess they are not!

I was recently sent a brand new can of PAM Original canola oil spray (yay!) and was asked to compare it to a competitor’s brand of olive oil spray. I took the opportunity to spoil the kids with their favourite pancakes one lazy Saturday morning.

One thing I did notice right away is that the PAM gave a much finer, smoother spray than the competitor’s brand. As well, almost instantly the competitor’s brand kind of bubbled up and turned dark brown. That’s the stuff I can’t get off my pans and bakeware!

Three PAM favourites – Original, Butter and Baking- leave 97% less residue than margarine or bargain-brand cooking sprays. You’ll find them on store shelves at grocery and mass stores across Canada.

I am participating in the PAM No Residue blog comparison program with enCompass Media. I’ve received payment as a thank you for participating and sharing my honest opinion.

  1. Never stopped to think it was leftover cooking spray residue…going to have to get some of the Pam No-Residue to try out.

  2. I actually never used PAM until my friend recommended it for me to try, just bought myself a can of it the other day!

  3. I can definitely see the difference; interesting. Wasn’t aware it was oil residue that caused the brown stuff on my baking pans.

  4. I’ve never given cooking spray a try…..you may have convinced me to try Pam!!

  6. I use PAM all of the time and love that it doesn’t leave residue. 🙂

I’ve never used cooking spray, this non-residue business might actually convince me to give it a try. Thanks for the post, very informative 🙂

I use PAM all of the time and have been for years

  9. Wow, that is a noticeable difference in the way the spray went on the pan. Did the pancakes cook the same too? Funny how the competitor brand makes it all brown….yuck!

The pancakes did cook exactly the same and both were great for non stick, but the other brand did turn very brown and bubble up

I use Pam , except when I make banana bread I find it gives a bitter taste on bottom of loaf.

  11. Pam is the only kind we use!

  12. Amanda Manduh says

I’ve always been hesitant to use Pam cooking sprays, for some reason I always thought it wouldn’t taste as good as butter or margarine. I may just have to try it out, especially now that they have a newer kind.

  13. I love Pam!! The “fake” stuff just does not compare!! 🙂

  14. Wow.. That is a huge difference.. I honestly would not have thought there would be – something to keep in mind though for my own home!

  15. I have always hated the residue so this is great.

  16. I love using Pam, and I have tried others that weren’t to bad but there is one no name brand that just totally sucks, I did find that awful stuck on residue came from the other brands, so I stick with Pam and stock up when it comes on sale!!
