You are never too old to make your dreams come true

Imagine getting the best surprise of your life, at 91 years old?

For Catherine, that’s exactly what happened. At 85 years old, she invented a new product and started to sell it, but she needed a little help. That’s when BMO stepped in to help make her dreams come true.

Take a look!

I love this story; Catherine proves that we never stop having goals and dreams, no matter where we are in our life’s journey. And Eden shows me that help can come from the most surprising places, never give up!

I’ve always been more comfortable giving help rather than receiving it, and often look for ways I can pull off a small random act of kindness when I am out in the community.  It’s so easy and costs nothing to make someone smile and feel good.  My husband and I were just reminiscing yesterday about the time we helped build the first Habitat for Humanity house in our city. Knowing that a family who really needed a hand up was going to move in that house and better their lives was all the inspiration we needed. Giving help isn’t always a hand out, but instead a helping hand UP! You never know when you are going to be in a position where you need the help of someone else to make your dreams come true.

#HelpGiven

The holidays are the perfect time to share messages on the spirit of giving. I’d love to hear about a time that someone helped you with your goals and dreams, or a time when you helped someone else! Don’t be shy, share your story in the comment section below!

  6. Great post.

  7. When we were a young family we had a mystery person send us gifts for Christmas. It was much needed and appreciated. Now I am always looking for ways to give back to others

  8. Wow. That moved me to tears. What a beautiful gift. For me – I have had special instances where instead of giving my loved ones an actual gift – I give them a neat opportunity that they may not have ever had the opportunity to do themselves. I used to work for Price is Right. My friend was obsessed with the show and I brough her in for a tour and surprised her with front row seats and the chance to meet Bob Barker himselfX It was a simple phone call for me, but a memory that will last her a life time. It felt so good seeing her so happy.

  9. Love how feisty Catherine is in her 90’s! And as for the product, looks like something I could use as I am so makeup challenged.

  10. I think sometimes we underestimate how even the smallest act of kindness can impact someone. I volunteer in my child’s class once a week, and the number of “I love yous” and hugs I get is so wonderful That’s the best feeling.

  11. What a great story, goes to show us that we should never give up on our dreams, love it!

A marvellous story and what a banker, I would never have expected that from a banker. Wonderful, I am so happy that her dream came true. 🙂
