Banana Muffins with a Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl

One of our very favourite muffin recipes is Banana Oatmeal with Chocolate Chips of course, because my muffin monsters love all things chocolate. Recently I decided to update our tried and true recipe for a bit of fun with some Reese’s Spreads. You can’t go wrong with Reese’s!

Reese’s Monkey Muffins

Reese’s Monkey Muffins are banana muffins with a chocolate and peanut butter swirl!

Ingredients

1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup quick oats
½ cup white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 egg
¾ cup milk
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large ripe mashed bananas
Reese’s Spread

Instructions

Combine flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In large bowl, beat the egg. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla. Add the mashed bananas and combine thoroughly.

Stir the flour mixture into the banana mixture until just combined.

Line a 12 cup muffin tin with paper baking cups or spray with baking spray. Divide the batter evenly among them.

Take a tablespoon of Reese’s Spread and spoon it onto the top of each muffin. Using a knife drag the spread through the muffin mixture to create a marbled effect.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 18-20 minutes.
