What’s Hot from Hexbugs for the Holidays

gg-item

A couple of years ago I was feeling stumped on something to get my boys for Christmas that was a little different. With three boys all close in age I felt like they had a lot of the same toys and needed something they hadn’t seen before. A friend suggested Hexbugs and another chimed in that her boys really liked them too so I knew we were on to something. That year they received a Hexbug habitat and loved it, in fact, just the other day they had it out to play with again and realized the batteried had died in their bug and they were sad.

I knew it was time to look into Hexbugs again and see what new and crazy things were available for the holidays this year.

VEX Robotics Snap Shot

Wield the power to defend your turf by building your own handheld space blaster! Watch as the ammo drops down and secures into position. Lock target, aim, and send projectiles flying over ten feet for long-range attacks!

I love how these toys are educational but they are so fun, kids won’t even realize it! Learn how simple gear ratios and spring energy ensure that noone down range is safe. VEX Robotics is dedicated to teaching kids the science behind the fun through hands-on learning with its STEM based robotics construction kits. Assemble and annihilate.

VEX ROBOTICS SNAP SHOT BY HEXBUG

HEXBUG nano Nitro Habitat

The nano is a micro robitc bug that once switched on, can skitter its way through any maze. Watch as it travels swiftly around curves, zooms through merry-go-rounds, or chases a fellow nano Nitro in a high-speed race! Designed to foster children’s creativity, develop fine-motor skills, and fuel hours of amusement, this set gets kids to think about simple construction techniques as well as the science behind the toy.

I really love that the sets are customizable and can easily connect with other sets you might already own or aquire in the future. The nana Nitro Habitat comes with one supercharged bug, over 25 pieces and batteries included.

The sets really are the most fun when more than one bug is on board! You can buy hexbugs individually as well, and they make great stocking stuffers.

HEXBUG Cuddlebots

Now even the youngest Huexbug fan can have fun with crawling critters! The Cuddlebots are soft and adorable and geared for ages 18-36 months. The HEXBUG Cuddlebots squishable bodies vibrate and scurry across the floor, instigating playtime, anytime. Available in two styles Honey Bee and Fire Fly, both with signature scents! That’s right, the Fire Fly Cuddlebot has a distinct lavender scent.

HEXBUG Wahoo AquaBot with Bowl

I had seen the new Wahoo Aqua Bot in the store when I was shopping for a birthday present for a classmate of my son. It looked really cool, but I just wasn’t sure what it could do so I hesitated. Now that I’ve seen it in action, I think it’s the most entertaining little toy! The fish come in one of four colours (we have the orange) and they seem quite simple until you plunk them in the tank and then they really come to life! They are the newest to the line up but are definitely the fastest HEXBUG AquaBot. I took a little video so you could see the Wahoo AquaBot dance and splash in real time!

If you are opening this one on Christmas morning, be sure to check the packaging before it heads to the recycling bin, it come with 2 bonus batteries!
