These snowman gift pots are so easy the kids can do it!
Teachers, Babysitters, Coaches, the Bus Driver….it can be really hard to come up with a gift for the holidays when you want to show your appreciation but you don’t necessarily know the recipient that well. One thing we can probably all agree on is gift cards are always a win, but they just aren’t all that personal.
This holiday I painted up some adorable snowman gift pots from terra cotta pots to act as a really cute gift card holder for my son’s teachers. The gift is simple and doesn’t require any special painting talent or skill, the kiddos could even do the artwork themselves, but will definitely bring a smile to your recipients face!
Snowman Gift Pots
You’ll Need
Terra Cotta Pot
Black Paint
White Paint
Orange Paint
Cellophane treat bag, med size
Candy
Ribbon
Gift Card-Optional
Directions
I picked up these small terra cotta pots at Michaels, they are very inexpensive. Paint the bottom portion of the pot using white paint (I used acrylic paint for all colours).
Once dry, go ahead and paint the rim with the black paint.
Using the end of a paint brush (not the brush end) dip it into black paint and dot on the snowman’s eyes. Do the same for the mouth.
Using a small tip paint brush, paint on the carrot nose with the orange paint.
I purchased the cellophane candy bags from the bulk barn. Again, they are very inexpensive and come in many designs. I choose the gold star design for my snowman gift pots.
When your pot is dry, set the candy bag in the bottom of the pot and fill with wrapped candy or chocolates. I went with 4 varieties of chocolates for mine.
For my pots, I also tucked in a full size chocolate bar down the center, but it’s not necessary and your gift card, if you choose to add one, will still sit nicely in there on it’s own.
To finish it off, tie a pretty ribbon to secure the treat bag and a gift tag.
I was really happy with how the snowman gift pots turned out and the boys are excited to bring them to their teachers to end off the year.
How adorable, no wonder the boys are excited to bring them to their teachers. 🙂
Such a cute idea.
great gift idea!!!!
Yes! this is a plan for next year (no time left this year)
These are very cute; great idea!
These are very cute gifts especially because the kids can make them, the teachers get double enjoyment: pleasure at seeing what the kids made and then take pleasure in the Gift cards and whatever else is in the pot.
