Our Favourite Pork Tenderloin Marinade

This easy grilled Pork Tenderloin marinade recipe will quickly become a family favorite.

I grew up in a town where the main industry was turkey. Everyone in town knew at least a handful of people who worked at the turkey plant and being local we had access to the best cuts of meat from the local farm shop. Growing up my parents made a delicious turkey filet that was one of my favourite meals and they used this same marinade.

When I moved away from home, I couldn’t find turkey filets anywhere in the grocery stores and growing frustrated, one day I decided to try the marinade on pork tenderloin instead. The results were similar and it gave me that taste I was looking for. Since then, we’ve been using this easy pork tenderloin marinade and grilling up delicious summery pork meals that remind me of my childhood favourite.

How Long Do You Need To Marinate Pork Tenderloin?

Place the bag or container inside the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to overnight. The longer the meat sits in the marinade the more flavour it will have. I like to marinate my meat in the morning and grill for dinner.

Grill the meat over the heat elements of a gas grill. Turn the meat every 5 minutes or so for about 25 minutes total or your desired doneness. Tenderloin is is a bit of an odd shape, it’s not really round or flat but so you’ll need to keep turning the meat to evenly grill.

Transfer the tenderloins to a carving board, cover loosely with aluminum foil and let rest for 5 minutes. Carve into slices across the grain and at an angle to the cutting board.

What to serve with Pork Tenderloin

The answer is almost anything! Grilled meat goes with so many side dishes including fresh salads, potatoes, vegetables and baked beans. Pictured with our bbq pork tenderloin is a delicious Cheesy Zucchini Rice or try these Tandoori Potatoes that are also made right on the grill.

What can I do with Leftover Pork Tenderloin?

We love making lots of pork tenderloin and using it for leftovers the next day. We make sandwiches and wraps with it for lunch and it also goes well in a stir fry for dinner.
