5 Delicious Valentine’s Day Dinner Ideas
#1. Date Night Lemon Pasta
If you are looking for a delicious and nutritious meal that can be eaten at lunch or dinner, then look no further. Below are the ingredients you will need to make your date night lemon pasta.
- Ground black pepper.
- A lemon.
- Kosher salt.
- Six ounces of spaghetti.
- Six tablespoons of grated parmesan.
- Six tablespoons of cream.
- Three tablespoons of unsalted butter.
Use a peeler to remove a lemon zest strip. Slice it into multiple strands and place it in a corner for later use. You also need to grate the lemon. Try to squeeze out about a tablespoon of lemon juice.
Boil some water in a pot and throw in some salt. The spaghetti should be cooked two minutes shy of al dente. While the spaghetti is getting cooked, you should add some cream and lemon zest to a skillet. Whisk the mixture over medium heat for roughly two minutes.
Then, reduce the heat to medium-low and whisk in the butter. Once the butter is nice and creamy, you should remove it from the stove. Scoop out one and a half of the water from the pasta pot and reserve it.
This should be done right before the spaghetti is al dente. Next, add six tablespoons of the water to your cream sauce and turn the heat back to medium. To be safe, you should use a pair of tongs to move the spaghetti to the pan.
Toss the sauce and spaghetti together, and then add the parmesan slowly until the cheese is completely melted. Stir in your lemon juice and add some salt if needed. Finally, add some freshly ground pepper and the lemon strips that you placed aside at the beginning of the meal preparation.
#2. Steak and Potatoes
Enjoy golden potatoes that are pan-seared and crisped to perfection. A decadent sauce made with butter, herbs, and garlic will help elevate this meal to epic status.
- A teaspoon of fresh, chopped parsley.
- Two to four steaks.
- Pepper, salt, and garlic powder.
- A tablespoon of olive oil.
- A teaspoon of fresh, chopped thyme.
- Two to four pounds of diced baby potatoes.
- A teaspoon of Italian herb blend, dried.
- Two teaspoons of garlic, minced.
- Two to six tablespoons of butter, salted.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix your dried herbs, garlic, and butter and place in a corner for later use. Season your steaks on both sides using garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
Drizzle a skillet with some oil after turning the heat up to medium-high. Proceed to sear your steaks for two to three minutes on each side. Place on a few plates and set aside for now.
Throw your potatoes into your skillet. Season with garlic powder, pepper, and salt and saute for four minutes. Place your potatoes on one side of the pan. Use the other side of the pan to house your steaks.
Once you have moved your steaks back into the pan, you will need to move the pan into the oven. You will need to cook your steak and potatoes for about twenty minutes. Add garlic butter to both steaks after you have extracted them from the oven.
About a dollop of garlic butter should suffice. Whatever garlic butter remains should be added to the potatoes. Allow the butter to melt before you stir the potatoes. Top with parsley and chopped thyme, and your masterpiece will be finished.
#3. Curried Coconut Chicken
If you want to travel to the tropics without booking an expensive flight, curried coconut chicken will fit the bill nicely. Curried chicken is cooked in tantalised tomatoes and creamy coconut milk to create a romantic meal for the ages.
- Three tablespoons of sugar.
- Two pounds of skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut into half-inch pieces.
- A can of tomato sauce.
- Two tablespoons of curry powder.
- A can of diced and stewed tomatoes.
- A can of coconut milk.
- Half an onion, sliced.
- Two cloves of crushed garlic.
- One and a half tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- A teaspoon of pepper and salt.
Begin by seasoning your chicken chunks with your pepper and salt. Heat your curry powder and some oil over medium heat in a skillet. Do so for two minutes before you stir in some garlic and onions. Continue to cook for an additional minute.
Then, throw in your chicken and toss them so that they are covered in your curry oil. Turn down the heat from medium-high to medium. Continue to cook for ten minutes. Next, pour your tomatoes, sugar, tomato sauce, and coconut milk into a pan.
Stir everything together before you cover the mixture. Allow the mixture to simmer for 35 minutes. Stir now and then, and your curried coconut chicken will be delicious and ready to serve!
#4. White Truffle Tagliolini
If you adore white truffles, this meal is a match made in heaven. This is a generous pasta dish often served in 5-star restaurants, but you won’t have to break the bank to serve it to the love of your life.
- An ounce of fresh and shaved Alba truffle.
- A pound of fresh tagliolini.
- Half a cup of grated parmesan cheese.
- Some kosher salt.
- Half a cup of divided, best-quality butter.
Take a large pot of water and set the heat to high until it reaches a rolling boil. Add a fair amount of salt for seasoning purposes. Add the pasta, and then use a pair of tongs to stir it. Boil for about two minutes.
Melt a quarter cup of butter under high heat in a skillet while the pasta cooks. Once cooked, use your tongs to move the pasta to your skillet. Stir evenly so that you get a beautiful mix of pasta and butter.
Add a cup of pasta cooking liquid to your skillet using a ladle. Stir rapidly as you do so. Add the remaining butter and stir, and shake your pan until the water reduces ever so slightly. You’ll know you’re done when you notice that the creamy sauce has clung to the pasta.
Remove from the heat, and then sprinkle some cheese with pasta. Keep stirring until the pasta absorbs some liquid and creates a yummy sauce. Finally, divide the pasta into two bowls and top them with shaved truffles before serving.
#5. Spicy Honey-Roasted Chicken
If you enjoy a savoury, spicy, and sweet mix that is both filling and sumptuous, then look no further.
- Two tablespoons of melted butter.
- A whole roasting chicken.
- A teaspoon of salt.
- A teaspoon of garlic powder.
- Half a cup of honey.
- Half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
- One and a half teaspoons of cumin, ground.
- A tablespoon of chilli powder.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t forget to rinse and pat dry your chicken before setting it in the roasting pan.
Mix your garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, honey, cumin, and chilli powder into a bowl. Rub the honey mix all over your chicken using your clean hands. Next, use your melted butter to baste the chicken.
Take the chicken to your preheated oven to roast it. Roast for roughly 40 minutes or until the chicken turns brown. Proceed to baste the chicken with some savoury juices in the pan.
Turn the heat down to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Continue to roast the chicken until the juices run clear, which may take up to two hours. We suggest that you baste now and then while the chicken is roasting.
Remove the chicken and cover in foil. Let it rest for ten minutes before you slice the chicken for serving.
