This weekend I experienced a rarer than rare 31 hours completely child free!!! The last time that happened was in the Fall of ’07 so I was long overdue! I took the 3 hour road trip to visit my Dad who is home from the hospital and doing very well. I couldn’t bring the boys for fear they would try to climb all over him and it was certain they would wake him while he rested. So out I ventured alone, what’s a girl to do???
~ I got to drive the tiny little car instead of the monster van
~ I listened to music I wanted to listen to and at a volume I could hear, without protests that it was drowning out the ‘Cars’ movie in the back seat
~ I even sang along a little, maybe too loudly at times!
~ At one point, when the Black Eyed Peas came on, I even danced a little in my seat! lol it was a long drive!
~ I had dinner with my best friend and enjoyed ‘adult conversation’
~I would have had a glass of wine, but I was too freaking cold and ended up having not one, but two hot chocolates
~I stayed up late chatting with my mom with no worries at all of being woken through the night by babies. ( the time change thing screwed me a bit though)
as a side note: Daddy was woken 3 times! Once from each baby boy! and did I giggle when I found out???….um..yeah a little! lol
Okay, so obviously a 31 hour stay in the Bahamas would be better, but these days I take what I can get! Sign me up for another one!
