I’m a planner, I like to be organized. I think ahead. So it’s no surprise that although it’s still a couple of months away Birthday Season is on my mind.
We fondly refer to the end of May/beginning of June as Birthday Season. This is the time of year when 4 out of 5 of our immediate family members have birthdays within 10 days! If you include Grandma and my nephew in those same 10 days we have 6 birthdays! That’s a lot of cake!! It’s as big as Christmas around here!
This year is extra special because Little Buddy turns One! We will throw a big party for him. Big Brother and Middle Man will share a small party at our house for the first time. Not too sure how the whole sharing thing will go down. And birthday #4 goes to Daddy who shares his birthday with Middle Man. Poor Daddy, four short years ago this time of year was all about him, now he’s vastly overshadowed by the kids.
My mom was always great about making us fun, thoughtful birthday cakes growing up, so I try to do the same for my boys even though I’d never decorated cakes before, I just learn as I go along. You never know if you don’t try.
