Barielle Review and a Giveaway too!

I love hearing about how companies started up, got their ideas and began sharing their products with the world. Would you believe that Barielle got started at a race track??

Barielle’s story began in the unlikeliest of places: the legendary Belmont Racetrack. Husband and wife equestrian aficionados, Howard and EsteLee Price, devised a breakthrough formulation to condition the hooves of their million-dollar thoroughbred racehorses. As weeks went by, the Prices discovered that they had also created a million-dollar product for nails—one that would quickly become an integral element in the modern manicure and pedicure. The cream, which strengthened their horses’ hooves to resist splits and cracks, had the same effect on the nails of the jockeys that applied it. Reformulated for women and men, the miracle product “Nail Strengthener Cream” was born and Barielle was founded.

I was given the opportunity to try this same Nail Strengthener Cream. I have had problems with my nails breaking for years, of course they always break too high up so you can’t just snip them off and it can be quite painful and also annoying as the new jagged edge catches on everything. I was really excited to give this product a try. This is really a product you should use on a daily basis to get good results and if you have particularly bad nails, apply a couple times a day. I liked to put this on right before bed, mostly because that’s when I remember since it’s in my nightstand, but also because it gives the cream a chance to penetrate overnight. The tube has a nice tiny tip that dispenses the cream well onto your small nails and is not greasy at all. I had good results with the Nail Strengthener Cream and you can even apply it over nail polish.

I love love love nail polish, so I was thrilled to be able to chose a Spring colour from Barielle’s polish line up. Barielle shades contain NO Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Toluene or Formaldehyde, so women can safely use them throughout their pregnancy and they have a high gloss salon worthy shine!
I decided on this cantaloupe orange colour called Joytini. I usually go for darker shades but this looked fun and summery. I adored the nail polish and can’t wait to try new shades. It went on smooth, needed just two coats for good coverage, was super shiny and lasted a long time.

To keep nail colours looking perfect, without dark colours fading or light colours yellowing, I was given the Barielle Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender. This is a great quick drying (60 seconds ladies!) and chip resistant coating that is a must have for all manis and pedis! It even helps protect from UV radiation! I tried this out with both the Joytini shade above and also a very dark navy blue and it was amazing on both. I love to try new colours, but I don’t have the time to be fixing them up every few days, I want my shades to last for weeks and this made it happen!
