The bad news?? Summer’s ending and Fall is already in the air. The good news?? Halloween is just around the corner!!
Even though I am not a fan of dressing up myself, I love picking out costumes for the boys to wear! It’s so fun to scan sites like AnytimeCostumes.com and see all the different costumes to choose from. The possibilities are endless! Monsters, Super Heros, Animals, Rock Stars, Renaissance…it’s so hard to pick just one!
I was looking for a costume for my middle guy and couldn’t resist the adorable Todder Frankie costume! So cute and scary! lol I couldn’t wait for it to arrive!
When the costume came the boys were really excited to see it, they didn’t exactly know who Frankenstein was, but I told them it was a monster and they thought that was hysterical. Usually it’s the little one who has to play the monster at our house, but Middle Man was happy to get into Frankie for some scary fun!
This is where things took a bit of a turn though and we quickly found out that the costume in the package was not the exact costume displayed in the picture. Close- but not quite. More like a knock off, cheaper version of the costume pictured.
How does it differ?
Most noticably, the costume in the picture appears to be a heavy fleece structured material. So structured that the monster head stands tall all on it’s own and has nice hems. It looks warm and cozy.
* The costume we received is made from thin felt and collapses around the head.
In the picture, the details are 3D. The hair fringe, red scar and stitches lie on top of the main material.
* The costume we received has the details ironed on.
Most importantly was the zipper that you can clearly see in the pictured costume. It seems to fit like a coat and zips up.
* The costume we received fits like a shirt, over the head and has a velcro closure. The velcro sits right at the throat and is very scratchy. We didn’t even get the pants on when he started to pull the top off becaue it hurt him. The zipper fleece would have been better.
Here’s my scary guy giving you a loud monster roar! As you can see it is still a really fun costume, it just does not have the quality that you would expect from the advertised picture that you purchase based on ($27.79us) and I happen to think that if you put a picture on a package, the inside product should be exactly the same thing.
This was just my experience with one costume. There are tons of other great ones to choose from!
