The week before last, I attended the BlissDom Canada Conference and I’m still in utter shock that I haven’t written about it yet. In fact, while I went to the conference to gain some insight and get motivated, I found that I had complete writer’s block when I came home. I have nothing brilliant, so bear with me as I just type along here and wing it. Even the shutterbug in me, who came home with brag worthy pics of me with celebrities snuggling it up for photo ops just finally took said photos off my camera. Something’s wrong with me, I think they call this the Blissdom Blues.
I was determined to have a good time at Blissdom! I wanted to meet some new people, connect with online friends I hadn’t met face to face before and see others again. Goal accomplished.

The sessions were all very good, but I felt like I fell into a lost middle ground. The two streams were either on honing your creative writing and trying to get published or monetizing your blog and being the next big thing. I’m not really interested in either. It left me feeling a little pressured to do more, want more, get out there and get more. It left me wondering where and how I fit in and then I realized that, hey, this is my blog and I get to do what I want with it. I get to make the rules. and I think I am doing okay.
The Blissdom gals sure do know how to make a group of bloggers feel welcome and they showed everyone a good time! From red carpet walks, rubbing elbows with celebs and partying it up at the karaoke party- there was fun to be had at every turn!

Same with the sponsors, I’m not a girly spa type girl, which is why I appreciated the opportunities for back massages, hand massages/treatments and manicures even more! It was really fun to take a break from the day and go relax in the Healthy Choice Spa with a paraffin wax hand treatment and end my day with a massage in the Phillips Lounge. The Kraft room was amazing and delicious and the Fisher Price gals let me know what it felt like to lounge in a bouncer chair! Also, Corel was on hand to take photos for head shots and this was a really neat experience too. Such a great way to get involved!
Step 2 knows how to play!

Thanks @corelsoftware
But the Bliss in Blissdom comes from connecting with friends! I had so much fun chatting with the girls, getting glammed up and laughing my butt off! Thanks to the ladies that made Blissdom so special for me!

Big hugs to Lysol (@lysolprotects) for making BlissDom 2011 a reality for me! They were a fantastic sponsor for this event!
