Living in Canada, the Winter months can be hard on our skin. Especially the delicate skin of our little ones. My five year old is out in the weather the most since he goes to school and walks to the bus, lately I started noticing red dry patches of skin around his bottom lip. It seems he has been biting his lips because they get dry and it started to cause a problem that we couldn’t fix. The skin was constantly flaky and red and well, didn’t look so pretty. I had tried different brands of lip balm, but to be honest, I didn’t medicate. I’m just not comfortable putting this kind of thing near my little boys mouth. When Weleda sent me a couple of products to try, I was impressed to read that the Weleda Weather Protection Cream was a natural product and protects from the cold, wind and harsh winter weather.
With pure beeswax and gentle lanolin, it blends in easily and is ideal for babies, children and adults who have sensitive skin. Formulated with sweet almond oil and Biodynamic® calendula flower extract, this rich cream absorbs smoothly into delicate skin, providing maximum comfort and protection without impairing the skin’s important natural functions.
The product seemed more like an oil to me than a cream, but it really did the trick. After just a few applications the flaking and redness were gone.
I also had the chance to try the cold cream which is for dry and very-dry skin, which I have on my hands, but I honestly couldn’t get past the smell to give this one a chance.
