My Husband and I both have a keen desire to eat a little healthier, but truth be told, neither one of us really know much about making healthy choices. Counting calories and checking ingredients has never interested me and I can barely understand most of it anyway. I always kind of felt that ‘diet’ food didn’t taste that good.
When the ‘Pod Squad’ sisters Greta and Janet Podleski approached me about reviewing the bestselling new book The Looneyspoons Collection (TLC) I was really excited to give it a try and test out some of the recipes.
I was impressed right away with this book! TLC is a huge, 400 page monster of a book filled to the brim with amazing recipes but much much more than that. It also includes hundred of healthy eating, weight loss and anti aging tips nestled amongst the pages! I find myself cuddled on the couch just reading this cook book for fun!
The first recipe we tried out was the FULLafel Patties found on page 106, we needed to scoot to the store to pick up some ingredients we don’t normally have on hand like Tahini, but found it a fun and tasty recipe to make! Next up, I made some cookies with the boys, Peanut-BETTER Gingersnaps! They were really good and just 108 calories per cookie. The Hubster even tried his hand at the Oatstanding Choco-Chip Muffins while I was away for the day last weekend. Again, so tasty and I love that pureed peaches are hidden in the recipe! So sneaky! I know we will be making more and more of these fabulous recipes as the days and weeks go on. I already have the ingredients on hand to make the Pumpkin and Spice and Everything Nice Muffins for next week. Can you tell we LOVE to bake????
