This fall I have been bouncing back and forth from the T-Dot giving me more anxiety than I can handle just by the mere thought of city driving! lol Why do I always have to hit Toronto right at rush hour and as it’s getting dark? I need to avoid that in the future, though I do love the look on the commuters faces when this small town girl waves them in a head! Apparently that’s a dead giveaway that you aren’t from around these parts! lol
Oh it’s all for good cause though, as Toronto meetings always include the faces of some of my favourite people ever, my blogging buddies!
The ShesConnected Conference took place mid-late October and consisted of days and nights filled with fun and friends. Taking notes in sessions, mingling with brand reps, meeting new people, sneaking hot chocolates from the McCafe and a few glasses of Skinny Girl margaritas during late night pajama parties, it was all exhausting and ever so exciting!
Note to self: don’t choose your roomie based on who you like best, find the person who snores the least! hahaha actually we were having too much fun to sleep anyways! lol
Thanks to ShesConnected for the opportunity, the fabulous brands for supporting the blogging community and hugs and snuggles to the ladies that make conference weekend memorable! mmmwahhh!
Last week, I was heading back with slightly less white knuckles because I had the fine fortune of a travel companion in Tammy from In R Dreams. We were in town for the PGmom event held at the fabulous brand new Four Seasons Hotel in Yorkville. To say the hotel exceeded my expectations would be an understatement.
The P&G team really know how to throw an event and had every detail covered from ensuring we had all the travel essentials to pimping out the restrooms with the softest toilet paper on the planet- charmin! seriously, it’s like wiping with a cloud people!
Moving on…
I was surprised to be fascinated by diaper technology, enjoyed seeing some new P&G products I hadn’t had the chance to try yet and was thrilled to meet some Canadian Olympians and even hold and Olympic medal! That was definitely a first for me! (they are quite heavy, feeling bad for Michael Phelps- no I’m not really!)
My inner girly-girl was most excited by the beauty brands and I was really inspired by how they can all come together for a total make-over! I’m super excited to see Cover Girl back in the nail polish game and they have hit a complete home run with their new polish! It’s amazing! My nails usually are chipped within hours of application which is why I usually only ever wear it on my toes. I wore my Pretty Penny shade for days on end without the slightest crack and that is impressive to say the least! I can’t wait to try more colours!
So why am I a PGmom???
Well here’s the thing- regardless of how you feel about ‘corporate brands’ or ‘non eco green’ products…
I AM A P&G Mom
My house was filled with P&G brand products way before the first whisper of a blogging program hit the air. My mom is a P&G mom, her mom…lol okay I have no idea if my grandma used P&G products but when we were asked at the event why we used certain products, my answer was ‘because my mom always used those products’. It makes sense, I grew up with Tide and Bounce and when I moved out and looked upon the shelves of hundreds of laundry products, I reached for what I already knew – the products my mom used!
So I am super excited to share with you over the coming months all about my favourite brands and products under the P&G umbrella! It should be a lot of fun!
Awesome post Jen! I know my grandma always used Tide and bounce, so you could say I’m a 3rd generation P & G Mom too!!
Fun picture collages!
I’ll have to ask my mom about Grandma, she’s no longer with us but I bet she was a P&G mom too!
You’ve had a wonderful time in T.O. lately! And so exciting about P&G, I’ve always been a big supporter and have grown up with so many of their products that I still use today 🙂
Oh you look like you’ve been having a ball at these conferences, I wish I would have been able to go to the ShesConnected one. And big congrats on being a PGMom, their products are always used in my household and I guess it’s for the same reason like you put it, my mom used these products.
it’s funny how we sometimes follow in our mom’s footsteps that way.
When I picture my grandma’s basement, I see a huge box of tide beside the washing machine. Both events were a lot of fun, and you are as cute as a button.
Glad you enjoyed the event. It was so much fun for us too!
Thanks Joyce, you all did an outstanding job! Looking forward to working with you on many campaigns!
sounds like you had 2 great trips! Love seeing the pictures!
It’s always a pleasure seeing your gorgeous face m’dere. Always. ShesConnected was amazing for seeing each all our bloggy friends. 🙂 I would totally be all over the Beauty stuff too! Can’t wait to see what you amazing PG Moms have in store!
Thanks Jenn for driving, so much FUN we had 🙂
thanks a bunch for coming with me! I would have been a nervous wreck, especially when we didn’t see the hotel the first time around the block! ack!
YAY!! It was so much fun being able to see you twice in the same month, even if I was down and out the second time…I cannot WAIT to do it again, fab lady!
