As each year starts to come to a close, my mind starts to shift to all the new possibilities that come with a brand new year. A new chance to get things right and to start it off on a positive note. This year I have a little help from Philips and I’m upping my brush game with the Sonicare Flexcare Platinum!
The day my Sonicare Flexcare Platinum arrived in the mail, I was due for a visit with my dentist. I’ve tried other electric toothbrushes in the past, but always fell back to the old standby of a manual brush. Somehow I just found it less hassle and I was more comfortable with driving the brush myself. My hygenist, however, has always encouraged me to stick with an electric and I was happy to report to her that I had my hands on the Sonicare Flexcare Platinum and was ready to give it a good shot!
Features of the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum
InterCare Brush Head Technology
The newly designed brush head removes up to 7x more plaque between teeth and has extra long bristles. I liked the slim and long shaped brush head much better than the fat round brushes I have tried in the past. These fit in my mouth comfortably and I felt like I had an easier time gliding the brush over my teeth. My husband also, jumped on the Sonicare FlexCare bandwagon and he loved that the intercare brush handle was nice and long making it easy to reach those teeth far in the back.
Quadspacer and Smartimer
Do you brush for a full 2 minutes? I don’t either, lol but the Sonicare FlexCare Platinum keeps me on track by giving me light beeps when it is time to shift to a new quadrant and makes sure I am getting the full dentist recommended amount of brush time.
Pressure Sensor
I am sooo guilty of brushing too hard! Using an electic toothbrush like this one means I actually don’t have to do the work, I just have to sit back and let the Sonicare do it’s thing and just guide it along. When I do push too hard, the brush lets me know to back off and relax.
UV Brush Head Sanitizer
I wouldn’t say I am a germaphobe but it has always made me a little squimish to see my toothbrush out in the open in one of the germiest rooms of the house. I was beyond excited to see that the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum came with the UV Santizer feature! Woot! This little chamber kills up to 99% of bacteria and viruses on the brush head. Both brush heads fit in at once and with the door closed and a press of the button a soft light glows on the inside letting you know it’s working. Thank You!
Chose your mode
You can personalize your brushing experience with a setting that best suites you! There is an option for clean, white, and gum care, as well as, 3 intensity settings: low, medium and high. I prefer a lower setting and consider myself a bit of a beginner with electric brushes. But my husband who’s a deditcated user probably uses a higher intensity.
On the Road
The Flexcare Platinum comes with a 3 week battery life, travel case and charger. The case can fit in both brush heads as well as the handle unit.
I’ve used this toothbrush twice a day for the last two weeks and I love that I still have that fresh from the dentist feeling in my mouth! I feel good about starting the new year off with a plan for better oral health! My husband has even made the switch from his old electric toothbrush to our fancy new Sonicare FlexCare Platinum!
Have you made the switch to an electric toothbrush yet?
Thanks for the review, no, I haven’t made the switch yet. My kids on the other hand all have owned electric toothbrushes and have really enjoyed them.
my kids love electric toothbrushes too, they make some really fun ones now!
Once you go electric, there’s no turning back! 🙂
it really does make such a difference doesn’t it?
Ooooh, I love that fresh from the dentist feeling. I have a mechanical one now but, NEED THIS ONE.
Love my Sonicare – it is truly remarkable the difference it makes!
we had one for my son years ago when he first needed braces but it was free as I got it from some survey place and had to do a review on it (I think it was great for his braces, he was young and lazy)
LO< this brush sure gets around the blogoshpere 🙂 I personally loved my experience with the Sonicare and can't wait to see what my kids think of it. It really does a much better job then regular brushing!
