The Prismatic World Tour hits Toronto!

Katy Perry made her COVERGIRL debut in 2013 and I honestly couldn’t think of a better fit for the brand! This is a girl that loves to play dress up and is colourful both inside and out! Her latest concert tour, the Prismatic World Tour, shows us just how much! It’s all about costumes, colour and Katy’s amazing voice!

I took in the concert with a few fellow PGmom’s, we were all super excited about the show! Our seats were incredible and we had a fantastic view of the stage, which was pretty fabulous! With two large walkways branching out into the crowd, the whole Air Canada Centre had an awesome view of the performance! With all of the spotlights focused on Katy, it was hard to get a good photo, but I tried hard!

Katy set the tone of the whole performance when she started out with ROAR! It was incredible! She went on to sing all the favourites like, Wide Awake, Hot n Cold, I kissed a girl, California Gurls, and some of the quieter songs as well, with Unconditionally, By the Grace of God and The One that Got Away.

There were a few fun tricks in store for us with flying guitar dudes and twirling acrobats from a steel prism, but what I loved most was how personable Katy was. She spent a lot of time just talking and connecting with the crowd. Katy did 3 sold out performances in Toronto, which she told us is the most she’s done anywhere, or probably tied with London. She seemed to enjoy her time in the TDot and even said she visited a Pioneer Museum to pass some time. That surprised us! Katy brought a young boy up onto the stage to give him a pepperoni pizza that she couldn’t eat because she’s allergic to gluten. “Are you allergic to Gluten?” she asked him. “No, but I’m allergic to pepperoni” he responds! We had a good laugh! She also picked someone with a July birthday to hang with her on stage during Birthday and she got down on the stage to take a selfie with a fan who had a sign asking for a selfie for his cat! lol “Don’t cry” she says, “or I will start crying” and we thought it might be a little girl, nope! It was a guy in his 20’s who literally looked like he was going to start bawling!

Speaking of little girls, I think about half of the audience was full of them! Here I thought I was on a ladies night out and at times it felt more like a kids concert with the tiny bodies, wigs and cat ears! lol I joked to a friend that I wouldn’t have been surprised at all if The Wiggles was the opening act! lol But truth is, it was a very family friendly performance and I bet those little girls were just ecstatic o see Katy in person!

Prismatic??

So what was so prismatic about the world tour?? When entering the concert there were bins of pink COVERGIRL cardboard glasses for the show. They looked like the old style 3D glasses from when we were kids (probably aging my self there a bit) but without the blue and red, these were clear. Once the show started I snuck a peek through the glasses and every light turned into a pretty rainbow prism! It was so pretty! Just before the encore performance of Firework, we were alerted to put on our glasses for a little ‘prism vision’ and it was AMAZING!!! Fireworks hit the sky and with the prism glasses they broke out into a million tiny prisms! It was absolutely incredible! What a performance! I snapped this pic below through the glasses during Hot n Cold!
