Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye
And I got that red lip classic thing that you like
And when we go crashing down, we come back every time.
Cause we never go out of style
We never go out of style
Taylor Swift- Style

Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies are as classic as it gets and they never go out of style! So while you’re making your next batch, go ahead and sing along to a little Taylor Swift at the same time! Chocolate Chip Cookies are meant to be carefree and simple, it’s one of the first recipes we learn to make as kids and one we still go for when we are grandparents. Crowd pleasers at any age!

When my son had a bake sale at school last week, this was one of the first recipes we thought of and like always they were a hit with the crowd! Hopefully they make enough money on their fundraising so that the end of the year trip doesn’t hurt the wallet quite so bad! lol

1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch

Cream softened butter with both the brown and white sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla and mix until blended and set aside.

In a medium sized bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cornstarch and salt. Stir until mixed well.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix together with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula. Don’t over mix. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop by spoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 8-10 min or until edges are lightly browned. Let cool for about 5 min and then transfer onto wire rack to cool completely.

You can roll cookie dough into balls and freeze for up to 3 months and then bake from frozen for approx. 12 min.

Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I like to pop a few chocolate chips right onto the top of the cookies either before or just after baking so you can really see those chocolatey pieces!
