Just when October couldn’t get any better, this year they announced that Star Wars Reads is not just a one day event, now it’s the whole entire month! So gather round your Jedi’s big and small and plan some really fun reading activities to celebrate all month long!
I love events like this one because it really encourages boys to get involved with reading, and sometimes boys can use a little extra encouragement. By choosing books that boys are actually interested in and want to read, it makes practicing reading and developing their skills so much easier. Plus, reading doesn’t have to be sitting down and finishing a book cover to cover. We read all day long in different ways, so even comics, reading LEGO instructions and sticker activity books are all ways to get reading in and keep it fun!

These Factivity books from DK have been a long standing favourite in our house, they are perfect for the youngest of Jedi’s and are jam packed with stickers, stickers, stickers!!! Over 500 to be exact! BUT it’s not just a sticker book, it’s an ACTIVITY book and there are lots of other things to do such as draw your own Sith, writing short stories, decorating a rebel ship. The book even has promps to expand their creativity like “Try adding a pattern to the wings” or “You could add a space background behind the ship”. I think it’s a great way to push boys to go further with their creations! And at the end of the day, the stickers are a ton of fun and the book is set up with a challenge to find the right sticker in the back of the book for a designated space.
Star Wars Build Your Own Adventure
